국문 초록

본 논문에서는 문화갈등의 시각에서 중국의 대(對) 한국 경제 제재를 분석하였다. 코로나 위기가 종료되며 한중 문화교류의 복원을 기대했으나, 최근 중국 정부의 한류 제한 조치들은 2016년 주한미군 사드(THAAD) 배치 논란 이후 시작된 중국의 대 한국 경제 제재가 계속되고 있음을 시사한다. 특히 본고에서는 피제재국의 문화산업에 대한 제재가 집중될 경우, 단순히 수출입 등의 경제 영역에만 제한된 경우와 국가정체성과 연계될 경우가 구분됨을 지적하였다. 한국 국민의 입장에서 중국이 취한 한국 문화산업 제재 조치는 단순히 외교정책의 수용을 압박하는 수단을 넘어서는 것으로 인식되고 있다. 또한 세계적으로 큰 영향력을 미치고 있는 한국 문화산업에 대한 중국의 제한 조치는 한중 간 외교뿐 아니라 한국 국민의 대 중국 인식에 지대한 영향을 미치고 있다.

영문 초록

In this paper, we analyzed China's economic sanctions against Korea from the perspective of cultural conflict. With the end of the coronavirus crisis, Korea expected the restoration of cultural exchanges between Korea and China. However, the Chinese government's recent measures to restrict the Korean Wave mean that China's economic sanctions against Korea, which began after the controversy over the deployment of the US military's THAAD in Korea in 2016, will continue. In particular, this paper analyzes cases where sanctions are concentrated on the cultural industry of a sanctioned country and when these sanctions are linked to national identity. From the perspective of the Korean people, China's sanctions against the Korean cultural industry were perceived as going beyond a means of simply pressuring the acceptance of foreign policy. In addition, China's restrictions on the Korean cultural industry, which has great influence globally, are having a significant impact not only on diplomacy between Korea and China but also on the Korean people's perception of China.
