미술표현 수업이 자기이해와 내면적 특징 탐색에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 미술이 자신과 세계를 이해하는 활동임에도 불구하고 단순히 그리기, 만들기라는 인식으로 치우쳐 있는 현실을 지적하며 자신의 내면적 특징을 탐색하고 표현하는 미술 수업을 실행하여 수업의 경험이 학생들에게 미치는 영향을 탐구하려는 목적의 질적 연구이다. 이에 8차시의 미술표현 수업을 구안하고 3주간에 걸쳐 초등학교 고학년 학생 9명을 대상으로 실행하였다. 수업의 결과 학생들은 첫째, 미처 몰랐던 자신의 새로운 모습을 인식하고 자신의 내면적 특징을 알게 되었다. 둘째, 자신과 다른 사람의 공통점과 차이점을 발견함으로써 타인을 이해하며 공감하는 모습을 보였다. 셋째, 미술이 자기를 이해하고 표현하는 하나의 방법이 될 수 있음을 깨닫고 미술에 대한 인식이 확장되었다. 본 연구의 유의미한 결과를 바탕으로 교육 현장에서 더 깊이 있고 다양한 방식의 자기이해를 돕는 미술 수업이 구안되고 실천되기를 바란다.

영문 초록

This study is a qualitative study aimed at exploring the educational meaning and impact of classes by designing and implementing art classes that explore and express one's inner characteristics, pointing out the reality that art is biased simply to understand oneself and the world. The 8th art expression class was planned and conducted over a period of 3 weeks for 9 upper-grade elementary school students. As a result, Firstly, they recognized new aspects of themselves that they were previously unaware of and gained an understanding of their inner characteristics. Secondly, by discovering commonalities and differences between themselves and others, they acknowledged diversity and demonstrated an ability to understand and empathize with others. Thirdly, they realized that art could serve as a means of understanding and expressing themselves, leading to an expanded perception of the role of art. Based on the meaningful results of this study, it is hoped that art classes designed to facilitate deeper and more diverse self-understanding through art will be developed and implemented in all educational settings, regardless of whether they are part of public or private education. This way, students can recognize art as a meaningful experience of understanding and expressing themselves.
