국문 초록

송정 최동량은 임진·병자 양란 때의 공적으로 貞武公의 시호를 하사받고 청백리로 녹선된 崔震立의 3남이다. 정무공 최진립을 派祖로 하는 校洞의 崔氏家는 12대 주손인 崔浚까지 약 300여 년간 만석의 부를 유지하면서 흉년에는 지역민들의 구휼에 앞장섰고, 외세가 침략하면 구국 활동에 전 재산을 희사하는 등 부자의 모범을 보였기 때문에 일명 ‘최부자댁’으로 부르기도 한다. 또한 교동 최씨가는 학문에도 꾸준하게 힘써 9명의 진사를 배출하기도 한 경주의 대표적인 가문이다. 최동량은 최진립의 충의정신을 이어받아 교동 최씨 가문이 300여 년 동안 유지·발전할 수 있었던 정신적 기반을 다진 인물로 평가된다. 본고는 아직 학계에서 연구된 적이 없는 『松亭先生遺事』의 구성과 내용을 면밀하게 검토해 본 것이다. 아울러 『송정선생유사』의 내용을 바탕으로 최동량의 생애와 행적도 함께 고찰해 보았다. 『송정선생유사』는 1901년 현손인 崔鉉冑가 上ㆍ下 2卷 1冊으로 편집한 목판본이다. 책은 ｢序文｣과 ｢年譜｣ 뒤에 상권과 하권으로 편집되었다. 상권은 모두 최동량의 遺文으로 구성하였고, 上疏文ㆍ書簡文ㆍ雜著文 순으로 엮었다. 하권은 당대 문인들과 그의 후손 및 친인척들이 그를 추억하고 죽음을 애도한 기록으로 구성하였고, ｢行狀｣ㆍ｢墓碣銘｣ㆍ｢墓誌銘｣ㆍ｢東京誌｣ㆍ｢祭文｣ㆍ｢輓詞｣ㆍ｢跋｣ 순으로 엮었다. 이를 통해 최동량은 강직한 성품을 지닌 효자였고, 위기지학을 지향한 학자였으며, 공정하고 유능했던 관리였음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 충효정신을 체득한 실천적 지식인으로 세인들에게 평가받는 모습도 확인하였다. 이러한 최동량의 모습은 교동 최씨 가문이 300여 년 동안 유지ㆍ발전할 수 있었던 원동력이 무엇이었는지 짐작할 수 있게 한다.

영문 초록

Songjeong Choi Dong-ryang is the third son of Choi Jin-rip(崔震立), who bravely died in the Battle of Namhansanseong Fortress during the Manchu Invasion of Korea. This family is a representative family of Gyeongju, which maintained full wealth for 300 years until the 12th Choi jun(浚崔), saved the people in the bad year, sacrificed all their wealth to save the country when foreign forces invaded, and also worked hard to study and produced nine Shinshi. Choi Dong-ryang is considered to have established the spiritual foundation of the Gyodong Choi family by inheriting the spirit of loyalty of Choi Jin-rip. This paper examines Choi Dong-ryang's life and activities in 『Songjungseonsengyusa(松亭先生遺事)』, the only record of Choi Dong-ryang that has not yet been studied in academia, and the composition and content of 『Songjungseonsengyusa(松亭先生遺事)』. The 『Songjungseonsengyusa(松亭先生遺事)』 was a woodblock print compiled in 1901 by his grandson, Choi Hyun ju(崔鉉冑) in two volumes, one volume, and was divided into commercial districts and lower volumes after the the preface and Annals of the book. All of the commercial districts were written by Choi Dong-ryang and consist of ｢Appeal to Resign Jipyeong Hyeonryeong(辭砥平縣令疏)｣, ｢Ask Yeo Heon(上旅軒張先生問目)｣, ｢Answer of Yeo Heon(附旅軒先生答辭)｣, ｢Write to Oh Pan-seo(與吳判書)｣, ｢Write to Kim Jeong-rang(與金正郎)｣, ｢Write to Lee Cham-ui and Daegan(與李參議大諫)｣, ｢the ten family motto(家居十訓)｣ and ｢The Diary of Byeongja(丙子日記)｣. The second volume is an appendix, a record of the literati of the time, his descendants and relatives remembered him and mourned his death, and consisted of ｢Heng jang(行狀)｣, ｢Myo gal myeng(墓碣銘)｣, ｢Myo ji myeng(墓誌銘)｣, ｢Dong gyong ji(東京誌)｣, ｢Ancestral rites writing(祭文)｣, ｢A mourning poem(輓詞)｣, ｢An epilogue(跋)｣. Through this book, it can be seen that Choi Dong-ryang was a person with the character of a Confucian scholar, a strong character, extreme filial piety, and a fair and competent official. It was found that he was evaluated by the world as a practical intellectual based on loyalty and filial piety.
