『東國詩話彙成』과 『詩話彙成』의 無名氏 기록에 대한 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 洪重寅(1677~1752)의 『東國詩話彙成』 권22에 수록된 [無名氏] 조목의 인물과 기사를 검토하고, 이를 후기 필사본 『詩話彙成』 本朝 <補遺>에 수록된 무명씨 기록과 비교하여 그 내용의 변이양상을 고찰하는 작업이다. 『동국시화휘성』의 [무명씨] 조목에는 권1~21에서 단일 조목으로 수렴되지 못한 인물의 기사들이 추가로 기록되어 있다. 기사 수는 총 70개이며, 기사를 수집한 대상 시화서는 『秋江冷話』·『終南叢志』·『惺叟詩話』·『水村漫錄』·『芝峯類說』·『海東雜錄』·『霽湖詩話』 등이다. 해당 인물의 정보를 알 수 없어 창작의 정황과 작품만 소개된 내용도 있고, 시를 짓게 된 경위와 수습하게 된 내력을 기술한 뒤 시를 소개하고 간단한 평어까지 옮겨둔 기사도 있다. 그러나 [무명씨]라는 조목명에 걸맞지 않게 이미 알려진 인물과 작품도 수록되어 있었는데, 이러한 기록 현황은 일정 작업이 진행된 후 확보된 기사들이 마지막에 함께 수록된 정황으로 이해된다. 『시화휘성』에서는 마지막 <보유> 부분에서 별도의 조목명 없이 해당 내용을 순서대로 정리하였다. 『동국시화휘성』과 동일한 좌표에서 15개 기사가 보이지 않았으며, 새로운 기사 108개가 추가되었다. 사라진 기사들은 내용이 중복되어 삭제하였거나 본문의 다른 위치로 이동한 경우도 있었으나 10개는 사유가 불분명하다. 추가된 108개는 기존 [무명씨] 기사들 사이 사이에 삽입된 형식으로 기록되었는데, 『동국시화휘성』에서 자료로 다루지 않은 『夢囈集』·『晦隱集』과 『詩評補遺』 등을 저본으로 삼았다는 사실이 변별점으로 드러났다. 무명씨들의 기록을 특별히 한군데 모아 기록한 것은 기록하지 않으면 사라지기 쉬운 인물들과 그 작품을 남기려는 작가 의식의 발현이다. 『시화휘성』은 『동국시화휘성』을 필사하면서 무명씨 인물군의 기사를 양적으로 확충하였는데, 특히 이들 중 1/3이 현존하는 시화 기록에서 해당 인물의 유일한 기록이라는 점은 유의미한 지점이다. 또한 이 인물들이 후기 기록인 李奎象(1727~1799)의 『幷世才彦綠』 등에 다수 등장하는 현상은 18세기 후기에 출현하는 다양한 인물 중심 기록물들에 『동국시화휘성』과 『시화휘성』이 계보상 선행했던 저작물임을 입증한다고 하겠다.

영문 초록

This analysis examines the characters and articles within the “Unknown Person” section of Dongguksihwahwiseong Vol.22, authored by Hong Jung-in. I compared the records, contents and patterns of variation of the unknown person with the “Supplement” section of Sihwahwiseong. In the “Unknown Person” sectio of Dongguksihwahwiseong, an additional record is presented, detailing articles that did not converge into a single item across Vol.1-21. This section comprises a total of 70 articles, focusing on works such as Chugangnaenghwa, Jongnamchongji, Seongsusihwa, Suchonmallok, Jibongyuseol, Haedongjamnok, and Jehosihwa, among oters. Due to the absence of personal information, these artcles introduce the circumstances and creation process, occasionally including poems and simple comments following the description of their composition and historical context. However, certain known figures and works that do not align with the “Unknown Person” title are included, indicating an arrangement of articles gathered after specific works. In Sihwahwiseong, articles lack individual titles and are summarized in the concluding “Supplement” section. While 15 articles diverge from the corresponding content in Dongguksihwahwiseong, 108 new articles are introduced. Some missing articles were omitted due to content overlap or moved elsewhere whinin the text. Yet, the rationale behind 10 articles remains unclear. The 108 additional articles are inserted between the existing “Unknown Person” section, drawing from sources such as Mongyejip, Hoeeunjip and Sipyeongboyu, which were not covered in Dongguksihwahwiseong, The unique compilation of records for the unknown person exemplifies the preservation of characters that might be fade into obscurity without documentation, showcasing the artist’s intention to record their work. When transcribig Dongguksihwahwiseong, Sihwahwiseong expanded upon the articles related to the family of the unknown person. Notably, one-third of these articles constitute the only available data about this individual in existing Sihwa records, such as Lee Gyu-sang’s Byeongsejaeeollok, it validates the genealogical groundwokr preceding Dongguksihwahwiseong and Sihwahwiseong, evident in various character-focused records from the late 18th century.
