국문 초록

고등학교 확률과 통계의 독립성 개념은 실생활의 확률 문제를 해결하는 데 도움을 주고, 확률 영역과 통계 영역을 이어주는 핵심적인역할을 한다. 그러나 학교수학에서 독립성 개념의 복잡성과 지도의 어려움으로 인하여, 독립성 개념이 가지는 본래의 의미보다형식적인 내용만 학생에게 전달될 가능성이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 ‘독립성 개념 이해의 어려움’과 ‘독립성 개념 지도 방식의문제점’에 대한 근본적인 원인을 탐색하기 위하여, ‘독립성’과 ‘시행’에 대한 개념을 교육과정과 교과서를 통해 분석하고, 고등학교수학 교사 41명을 대상으로 독립성 개념에 대한 이해도를 조사하였다. 이와 같은 내용을 바탕으로 고등학교의 확률과 통계 과목에서독립성 개념 지도 방식에 대한 시사점을 찾고, 교육과정 설계와 교과서 개발의 개선 방향에 대하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The concept of independence in high school probability and statistics helps to solve real-life probability problems and plays a key role in connecting probability and statistics areas. However, due to the complexity of the concept of independence and the difficulty of instruction in school mathematics, there is a possibility that only formal contents rather than the original meaning of the concept of independence will be delivered to students. In order to explore the fundamental causes of ‘difficulties in understanding the concept of independence’ and ‘problems in the method of teaching the concept of independence’, The concepts of ‘independence’ and ‘trial’ were analyzed through curriculum and textbooks, and 41 high school mathematics teachers were surveyed for their understanding of the concept of independence. Based on these contents, implications for the method of teaching the concept of independence in high school probability and statistics subjects were found, and the direction of improvement in curriculum design and textbook development was discussed.
