난타 활동이 어린이집 유아의 사회정서 능력에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 음악과 동작 활동을 포함하는 통합적 접근법에 기반한 난타 활동이 유아의 사회정서 능력 증진에 효과가 있는지, 그 효과는 유아의 연령에 따라 차이가 있는지를 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 만 3세와 4세 유아 65명을 연구 대상으로 선정하여 실험집단과 통제집단을 학급의 단위로 무선 배치하였다. 실험집단에는 주 2회, 각 30분씩 총 16회의 난타 활동을 시행하였고, 통제집단은 같은 기간 동안 어린이집의 정규 프로그램을 실시하였다. 그리고 난타 활동 시행 전과 후에 두 집단의 사회적 능력 행동 평가(Social Competence and Behavior Evaluation: SCBE) 검사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS for Windows 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도 분석과 독립 표본 t-검정, 대응 표본 t-검정, 공변량 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 난타 활동이 유아의 전체적인 사회정서 능력 증진에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 난타 활동의 효과가 연령 간에 차이가 있는지 살펴본 결과 전체적인 사회정서 능력 증진과 하위 영역인 친사회성 증진, 내적 문제행동과 외적 문제행동 감소에 미치는 효과가 만 4세보다 만 3세 집단에서 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 본 연구는 음악과 동작을 통합한 난타 활동이 유아의 사회정서 능력 증진에 효과가 있음을 밝힘으로써 향후 유아의 사회정서 발달을 위한 프로그램 개발 시 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to investigate the effects of Nanta activities based on an integrated approach involving music and movement on the socio-emotional competence of preschool children and whether these effects vary according to the children's ages. To achieve this, a total of 65 children aged 3 and 4 years were selected as the research participants, and they were randomly assigned to either an experimental group or a control group on a classroom basis. The experimental group engaged in Nanta activities twice a week for a total of 16 sessions, with each session lasting 30 minutes. The control group, during the same period, participated in the regular program of the preschool. Before and after the Nanta activity sessions, a Social Competence and Behavior Evaluation (SCBE) assessment was conducted for both groups. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS for Windows, including frequency analysis, independent samples t-test, paired samples t-test. and covariate analysis. The results of the study indicated that Nanta activities had a significant effect on overall socio-emotional competence enhancement in preschool children. Furthermore, significant effects on enhancing overall socio-emotional competence, as well as sub-domains including prosocial behavior enhancement and reduction in internal and external behavior problems, were more pronounced in the 3-year-old group compared to the 4-year-old group. By demonstrating the effectiveness of Nanta activities that integrate music and movement in enhancing the socio-emotional competence of 3- and 4-year-old preschool children, this study provides foundational data that can be utilized for the development of programs aimed at promoting socio-emotional development in young children.
