국문 초록

이 연구는 실제 교육 현장에 적용할 수 있는 국어·역사 교과 융합 수업 프로그램을 개발하여 실행한 사례 연구로써 경기도 수원시에 소재한 H 중학교 3학년 295명을 대상으로 진행되었다. 본 연구에서 진행한 프로그램은 조선시대 책문(策問)을 읽고, 책문의 다섯가지 질문(①과거의 교육제도는 어떤 모습이었나?, ②지금 우리나라의 교육제도는 어떠하며, ③만일 우리나라 교육제도에 문제가 있다면 어떻게 개선해야 할까? ④교육의 궁극적인 목적이 무엇이며, ⑤인재를 올바로 양성하는 방법이 무엇인가?)에 대해 생각을 써보는 활동이다. 즉 16세기 중반의 문제의식을 공유하고, 현재 대한민국의 교육 문제를 검토하여 대안을 제시하는 활동이다. 본 연구 과정은 국어와 역사 두 교과의 핵심역량으로부터 융합적 역량을 추출한 뒤, 총 6단계의 절차 모형에 따라 수업을 진행하였다. 특히 6단계인 '재평가하기' 과정은 약 3개월 정도 시차를 두고 글을 다시쓰기한 후에 성장 정도를 자기 평가하였다. 수업 결과, 학습자는 조선의 교육 제도를 알게 되었을 뿐 아니라 글쓰기의 즐거움을 느끼고, 문제 해결 과정에서 사고의 확장과 인식의 전환을 경험하였다.

영문 초록

This case study focuses on the development and implementation of Korean language and history curriculum convergence class program for third-grade middle school students in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do. The program centers around reading texts from the Joseon Dynasty Chaekmun's (specifically, the 13th year of King Myeongjong's Chaekmun) and addressing five key questions related to education during that era and in contemporary Korea. These questions include inquiries into the past education system, the current state of Korea's education system, potential improvements to the education system and the ultimate purpose of education and talent cultivation. During this program, students gained insight into educational challenges the mid-16th century, critically reviewed present-day educational problems in Korea, and engaged in writing activities to propose innovative solutions. This study extracted convergent competencies from the core concepts of Korean language and history subjects and structured the classes around six procedural models. In particular, during the “reevaluation” phase, students assessed their own growth after rewriting their work approximately three months later. This comprehensive approach enabled students to explore the educational system of the Joseon Dynasty, experience the satisfaction of effective writing, and undergo a transformative shift in their perspectives while addressing real-world problems. This research contributes to the development of effective pedagogical strategies that bridge the subjects of Korean language and history, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students.
