벽지 화재의 표면 연소 현상 및 연기밀도 특성에 관한 실험적 연구

국문 초록

벽지는 공간 전체를 덮고 있어 화재 시 실내 전체로 빠르게 화염이 확산될 수 있다. 화재 시 생성되는 연기는 피난을 방해하는 주요 인자로 피난안전성 확보를 위하여 벽지의 연기 특성을 밝히는 것은 중요하다. 따라서 본 실험은ISO 5659-2 연소 챔버 방법을 이용하여 25 kW/m2의 복사열에서 점화 불꽃의 유무에 따라 시간에 대한 특정 광학밀도 측정하였다. 실험 결과로부터 연기로 인한 가시도를 나타내는 감광계수와 연소 초기의 연기밀도 특징을 나타내는 VOF4를 도출하였다. 벽지는 종이, 코르크와 목화솜 벽지를 대표 벽지로 선정하여 실험을 수행했다. 실험 결과모든 벽지의 최대연기밀도는 점화 불꽃이 없을 때 더 높은 값을 나타냈으며 점화 불꽃이 있을 때 코르크, 목화솜,종이 순으로, 점화 불꽃이 없을 때 목화솜, 코르크, 종이 순으로 높았다. 점화 불꽃이 있을 때의 종이 벽지를 제외한벽지들의 감광계수는 1.0 m-1 이상으로 화재 시 가시거리 1-2 m가 확보되는 연기밀도를 보인다.

영문 초록

During a fire, flames can quickly spread throughout the room because the wallpaper covers the entire surface. Smokegenerated from fire is a significant obstacle to evacuation. Therefore, it is essential to study the smoke characteristics ofthe wallpaper to ensure evacuation safety. This study used the ISO 5659-2 combustion chamber method to measure thesmoke density over time with and without flame conditions using a 25 kW/m2 radiation heat flux. The extinction coefficientrepresents the visibility in the smoke, and VOF4 shows the initial combustion smoke density characteristics. These twofactors were derived from experiment results. Paper, cork, and cotton wallpapers were used as representative wallpapers. The results show that the maximum smoke density of all wallpapers was higher in the non-flame condition than in the flamecondition. Under the flame condition, the maximum smoke density was measured in the order of cork, cotton, and paper. In the non-flame condition, the order was cotton, cork, and paper with the maximum smoke density. The extinctioncoefficient of wallpapers, except paper, exceeded 1.0 m-1 in the flame condition, indicating that the smoke density providesvisibility of 1-2 m under fire.
