국문 초록

본 논문은 11명의 북향 이주민의 구술을 통해 북한사회에서 태어나 생활하다가 중국을 거쳐 한국사회로 이주해 온 북향 이주민들이 기억하는 고향에서의 명절 구술을 통해 1990년대 전후로 북한사회에서 수행되던 민속 생활을 재구성하고 남북사회의 전통 민속생활에 어떤 공통성과 다양성이 존재하는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 조사에 의하면 북한사회는 사회주의 명절과 의례가 설, 추석, 청명 등 민속 명절과 함께 기념되고 있었다. 특히 사회주의 명절과 민속 명절이 융합되어 기념되는 경우가 나타났다. 그 외에 북향 이주민들이 기억하는 명절 민속과 의례에는 유교 문화의 영향이라고 할 수 있는 의례 절차 등에서 남한사회와 공통적인 부분이 관찰되었다. 또한, 북향 이주민의 명절 기억에 관한 구술에는 1990년대 전후에도 여전히 생활세계에서는 민속 명절의 의식과 의미가 중요한 기능과 의미로 생명력을 유지하고 있었다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This paper reconstructs the folk life practiced in North Korean society around the 1990s through the dictations of 11 northbound migrants who were born and lived in North Korean society and then moved to South Korea via China. And I tried to look at what commonality and diversity exist in the traditional folk life of North and South societies. According to the survey, socialist holidays and rituals were celebrated in North Korean society along with folk holidays such as Seollal, Chuseok, and Cheongmyeong. In particular, there appeared cases where socialist holidays and folk holidays were fused and celebrated. In addition, commonalities with South Korean society were observed in the ritual procedures, which can be said to be influenced by Confucian culture, in the holiday folklore and rituals remembered by the North Korean migrants. In addition, it was found that the rites and meanings of folk holidays were still alive as an important function and meaning in the life world even before and after the 1990s in the oral statements about the memories of the holidays of the immigrants to the north.
