국문 초록

본고는 한류의 문화현상에 대해 어원과 정의를 규명하고 드라마와 K-pop을 중심으로 전개 양상을 살펴보고자 한다. 한류는 전 세계에 형성된 한국의 대중문화를 좋아하고 동경하는 현상이다. 한류에 대한 어원은 여러 가지 주장이 있지만, 한류는 한국의 문화콘텐츠가 한국 밖으로 나가 향유되는 것이다. 문화가 국경을 넘어갈 때 언어라는 장벽을 넘고, 문화의 장벽을 넘어 콘텐츠라는 언어로 전달된다. 그 새로운 언어가 세계인들에게 향유되는 것, 그렇게 한국의 콘텐츠가 공감을 얻고 확산되는 과정을 한류라고 할 수 있다. 한류 드라마의 경우 확산 과정에서 드러나는 시기별 특징은 TV세대 드라마 한류, 인터넷으로 퍼지는 드라마 한류, OTT세대 드라마 한류로 구분되며, K-pop의 경우 1997년을 기점으로 해서 오늘에 이르기까지 K-pop이라는 장르가 형성될만큼 전세계적으로 확산되었다. 특히 플랫폼의 변화를 거처 K-pop은 글로벌 확산을 위한 방법론적 모색을 도모하고 있다. 향후 전 세계인이 한국 콘텐츠 내에서 자신에게 맞는 취향을 찾아 향유 할 수 있도록 다양한 종류의 콘텐츠를 개발하고 다양한 플랫폼으로 전달하면서 오랫동안 세계인을 설레게 하는 ‘한류’이길 기대해본다.

영문 초록

This paper intends to clarify the etymology and definition of the cultural phenomenon of Hallyu, and examine the developmental aspects with a focus on drama and K-pop. Hallyu is a phenomenon in which people like and admire Korean popular culture that has been formed all over the world. There are various claims about the etymology of Hallyu, but Hallyu is the enjoyment of Korean cultural contents outside of Korea. When culture crosses borders, it crosses the barrier of language and is transmitted through the language of content. The process by which the new language is enjoyed by people around the world, and the process by which Korean contents gain sympathy and spread, can be called Hallyu. In the case of Hallyu dramas, the characteristics of each period revealed in the diffusion process are divided into TV generation drama Hallyu, Internet drama Hallyu, and OTT generation drama Hallyu. In the case of K-pop, from 1997 to today, K-pop It has spread all over the world enough to form a genre. In particular, through the change of platform, K-pop is seeking methodological methods for global expansion. In the future, we expect that it will be the ‘Hallyu’ that excites people around the world for a long time by developing various types of content and delivering it to various platforms so that people around the world can find and enjoy their tastes in Korean content.
