정보보호 인식 및 정보보호 행동에 기반한 인터넷 이용자 유형화

국문 초록

코로나19 대유행은 디지털화로의 전환을 가속하여 개인의 정보보호 인식과 정보보호 행동의 중요성을 더욱 부각하였다. 본 논문은 인터넷 이용자의 정보보호 특성(정보보호 인식과 정보보호 행태)에 기반하여 이용자를 분류하고 군집별 특성을 비교 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 새로운 군집화 방법론인 위상수학적 데이터 분석 (TDA)을 활용하여 2021 정보보호 실태조사 원자료(총 4,000개의 유효데이터)를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 디지털 리터러시, 정보보호 인식, 정보보호 행동 측면에서 상이한 특성을 보이는 4개의 군집으로 구분되었다. 정보보호 활동의 모든 측면(무선랜 및 모바일 보안 예외)에서 모범적인 수준을 보여주는 ‘정보보호 모범 군집’ (15.0%), 디지털 리터러시, 정보보호 인식과 전반적인 정보보호 활동(데이터 백업, 주기적 점검, 비밀번호 설정 및 관리 예외)에서 대체로 양호한 수준인 ‘정보보호 준모범 군집’(2.9%), 모든 측면에서 평균적인 수준을 보여주는 ‘정보보호 준거 군집’(65.9%)과 위 세 군집에 비해 모든 측면에서 극히 저조한 수준을 보여주는 ‘정보보호 취약 군집’(12.7%)으로 분류되었다. 군집 별 정보보호 특성과 인구통계학적 특성을 기반으로 각 군집의 프로파일을 식별하고 시사점을 도출하였다. 향후 코로나19 이후 도래하는 새로운 정상 상황에서 더욱 첨예해지는 사이버 공격에 대한 정보보안 대처 수준의 향상을 위한 정책적 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The COVID-19 pandemic has expedited digital transformation, emphasizing the importance of information security. This study categorizes internet users according to their digital literacy, security awareness, security behaviors and conducting comparative analyses of the distinct clusters. The Topological Data Analysis (TDA), a novel clustering methodology, was utilized to examine the 2021 Information Security Survey dataset (comprising 4,000 valid entries). Consequently, four unique clusters were identified: the 'Information Security Exemplary Cluster' (15.0%), exemplifying exceptional performance across all aspects of information security(ex￾cluding wireless security and mobile security); the 'Information Security Semi-Exemplary Cluster' (2.9%), dem￾onstrating generally favorable levels of overall aspects of information security (excluding data backup, regular device check-ups, password management); the 'Information Security Reference Cluster' (65.9%), displaying average performance in almost all areas; and the 'Information Security Vulnerable Cluster' (12.7%), revealing markedly low levels across all aspects compared to the other clusters. The study established profiles for each cluster based on their information security traits and demographic characteristics, extracting key insights. The study contributes significantly to enhancing the understanding of diverse user behaviors and tailoring inter￾ventions, ultimately fortifying defenses against increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks in the post-COVID-19 new normal.
