기호적 중재를 통한 사각형의 성질 학습 사례 연구

국문 초록

중등 기하 교육과정에서 여러 가지 사각형의 성질을 다루는 목적은 관계적인 네트워크로서의 수학적 추론의 구조에 대한 이해와 밀접하게 연관된다. 본고에서는 평행사변형의 성질 사이의 관계에 관한 추론 과제 내에 포함된 독특한 구조의 다이어그램과 해당 과제를 통해 이루어진 수업 내에서의 학습 과정을 기호적 중재의 측면에 주목하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 해당 다이어그램의 구조상의 설계로부터 과제 수행의 수단이자 동시에 기호적 중재의 도구로서 활용될 수 있는 기호적 잠재성을 확인할 수 있었다. 과제 수행 과정에서 학생들은 다이어그램상의 공간적인 구조와 수학적인 추론의 구조를 동시에 나타내는 다중양식적인 기호적 자원을 생성 및 활용하였으며, 이를 통해 수학적 추론의 구조에 대해 학습하는 모습이 관찰되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of dealing with the properties of various quadrilaterals in the lower secondary geometric curriculum is closely related to the understanding of the structure of mathematical reasoning as the relational network. In this paper, we analyzed the unique structure diagram included in a reasoning task on the relationships between the properties of parallelograms and the learning process within the class through the task, focusing on the aspect of semiotic mediation. As a result, we could identify the semiotic potential from the structural design of the diagram, which can be used both as a means in accomplishing the task and as a tool of the semiotic mediation. In the task process, students were producing and using multimodal semiotic resources that simultaneously represent the spatial structure of the diagram and the structure of mathematical reasoning, thereby learning the structure of mathematical reasoning.
