국문 초록

건축물 주거공간의 화재 안전성 향상을 위하여, 소화기는 주거공간에 비치되어야 할 필수 안전용품으로 규정되지만, 디자인 및 실용적 결함으로 인해 눈에 띄지 않는 공간에 비치되어 화재 발생 즉시 사용하기 어려운 경우가 일반적이다. 본 연구에서는 주거공간에 적용되는 기존 소화기의 문제점을 파악하고 사용자가 선호하는 소화기 인식요인을 조사하였다. 이를 위하여 기존 소화기의 문제점을 디자인 및 실용적 측면에서 개선한 소화기 시안을 도출하였으며, 시안에 대한 사용자의 선호도 조사를 통해 선호도에 영향을 주는 인자에 대한 분석을 수행하였고, 실용적 문제개선을 위해 실내 공기질 측정 센서 및 화재 감지/경보 시스템을 탑재하여 일상생활에서도 상시 활용할 수 있는 생활 밀착형 제품 디자인을 제안하였다. 소화기의 선호도 조사 결과 심미적 요인과 참신성이 전반적 호감도에 가장많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 결과 활용성에 있어 사용자가 실내 비치할 의향이 있는 선호 소화기 요인을제시함으로써 향후 소화기의 개발 방향에 도움이 될 것으로 기대되며, 나아가 소화기의 실내 비치를 통해 원활한초기 화재 진압으로 건축물 및 인명 안전에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 확신한다.

영문 초록

Fire extinguishers are considered essential safety items to be installed in residential spaces to improve the fire safety inbuildings. However, they are usually placed in inconspicuous locations owing to design and practical constraints, makingtheir immediate use difficult in a fire scenario. This study identifies problems regarding the application of existing fireextinguishers in residential spaces, and investigates factors influencing user preferences in recognizing fire extinguishers. Adraft fire extinguisher design that aims to address the problems associated with existing fire extinguishers in terms of designand practicality was derived. Using this draft, a survey was conducted to analyze the factors influencing user preferencewhile considering the improvement of practical problems with existing fire extinguishers. A life-friendly product design isproposed to ensure its use at all times in daily life; an indoor air quality measurement sensor and fire detection/alarmsystem are installed. Results of the survey confirmed that aesthetic factors and novelty had the most influence on overalllikeability towards preferring a fire extinguisher. This study is expected to contribute to the future development of fireextinguishers by verifying the preference factors for users to be willing to keep fire extinguishers indoors.
