여성 노인의 범죄두려움에 관한 내러티브 연구

국문 초록

최근 10년 동안 전체 범죄가 감소함에도 불구하고 범죄 피해를 당할 것 같다는 두려움은 증가하고 있다. 이러한 범죄두려움은 남녀노소를 불구하고 누구나 가질 수 있는 심리적 두려움이다. 범죄두려움의 원인을 규명하기 위한 연구는 국내외를 막론하고 끊임없이 진행되고 있다. 특히 범죄두려움의 연구는 범죄피해 경험, 범죄 취약성, 지역 무질서, 사회통합, 지역사회 경찰활동 등의 요인을 중심으로 양적 연구가 수행되어 왔다. 하지만 범죄두려움의 양적 연구는 연구대상자 간에 범죄두려움을 느끼는 차이로 인해 그 원인을 명확히 규명하는 것이 쉽지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 범죄두려움을 높게 인식하고 있는 연구대상자를 중심으로 범죄두려움의 원인을 규명하고자 하였다. 특히 선행연구를 기초로 하여 범죄피해가 적음에도 불구하고 범죄두려움이 높은 여성 노인을 대상으로 하였다. 또한 여성 노인을 중심으로 범죄두려움의 원인을 개인적 요인과 환경적 요인으로 구분하여 이들이 느끼는 범죄두려움의 원인을 파악하였다. 연구결과 여성 노인이 가지는 범죄두려움의 원인은 범죄 취약성으로 인한 범죄두려움이 높으며, 그리고 언론의 범죄 보도 및 지역 내의 무질서 등이 범죄두려움을 극대화 시키는 것으로 조사되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 여성 노인에 대한 범죄두려움을 해소할 수 있는 치안 정책적 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

Despite a decline in overall crime in the last decade, the fear of being a victim of crime has increased. The fear of crime is a psychological fear that anyone can have, regardless of gender or age. Research to identify the cause of fear of crime is constantly being conducted both at home and abroad. In particular, research on fear of crime has been carried out quantitatively, focusing on factors such as crime victim experience, crime vulnerability, regional disorder, social integration, and community police activities. However, in quantitative research on fear of crime, it is not easy to clearly identify the cause due to differences in fear of crime among research subjects. Therefore, in this study, we tried to identify the cause of the fear of crime, focusing on the research subjects who were highly aware of the fear of crime. In particular, based on previous studies, this study targeted female elderly people with high fear of crime despite low crime damage. In addition, the causes of fear of crime were divided into personal factors and environmental factors, focusing on female elderly people, and the causes of fear of crime felt by them were identified. As a result of the study, it was investigated that the cause of the fear of crime of the elderly female is the fear of crime due to the vulnerability of crime, and that the media's crime reports and disorder in the region maximize the fear of crime. Based on the results of this study, A public safety policy proposal was made to relieve the fear of crime for the elderly women.
