이집트 내 한국어 교재 개발을 위한 기초 연구

국문 초록

본고는 이집트 내 한국어 교재 개발을 위한 기초 연구로서 이집트 아스완대학교 교재 사용자를 대상으로 한 요구 조사를 통해 향후 초급 교재 개발의 방향성을 모색하고자 하였다. 현재 다양한 한국어 교재가 개발되어 사용되고 있지만, 이집트 현지의 교육 현장은 한국어 교재 마련이 여의치 않다. 또한 현재 사용되고 있는 한국어 교재 대부분이 한국의교육적 배경으로 제작된 내용이 많아 현지 학습자들이 이해하고 사용하는 데에는 어려움이 있다. 이에 아스완대학교 교사 3명, 학습자 23명을 대상으로 하여 기존 사용 교재에 대한 평가와 새로운 교재에 대한 요구를 조사하여 향후 초급 교재 개발의 방향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 조사 결과에 의하면 교사들의 경우 기존 사용 교재에 대한 만족도가 높지 않은 것으로 나타났으며, 현지 교육 상황과 환경에 적합한 초급 교재 마련의 필요성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 학습자를 대상으로 한 조사 결과에서도 기존 교재에 대한 만족도는 높지 않은 편으로 나타났으며 새로운 교재에 대한 요구 조사 결과에서는 더 많은 연습과 다양한 활동을 할 수 있는 교재에 대한 요구가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 아스완대학교를 대상으로 한 최초의 기초 조사로서 교재 사용자의 개괄적인 요구를 파악하는 데에서 그친 아쉬움이 있지만, 아스완대학교를 대상으로 한 최초의 연구라는 점에서 이집트 내 한국어 교재 개발에 의미 있는 자료로 쓰이리라 생각한다. 또한 기초 조사인 만큼 다음 단계에서는 교재 개발을 위한 후속 연구들이 다양하게 이어질 것을 기대한다.

영문 초록

As a basic study for the development of Korean language textbooks in Egypt, this study aimed to find the direction of future beginner's textbook development through a demand survey targeting users of textbooks at Aswan University in Egypt. Currently, various Korean textbooks are being developed and used, but it is not easy to prepare Korean language textbooks in Egypt's local education site. In addition, most of the Korean language textbooks currently in use are produced with Korean educational backgrounds, so it is difficult for local learners to understand and use them. Therefore, 3 teachers and 23 learners of Aswan University were evaluated on the existing textbooks and the demand for new textbooks was investigated to find out the direction of the development of beginner textbooks in the future. According to the results of the survey, it was found that teachers were not very satisfied with the existing textbooks, and the necessity of preparing elementary textbooks suitable for the local educational situation and environment was high. The results of the survey targeting learners also showed that the satisfaction with the existing textbooks was not high, and the results of the survey on the demand for new textbooks showed that there was a high demand for textbooks that allow more practice and various activities. This study is the first basic research targeting Aswan University, and it is regrettable that it was limited to grasping the general needs of textbook users. I think it will be used as a resource. Also, as this is a basic research, it is expected that various follow-up studies for the development of teaching materials will be conducted in the next step.
