범죄자의 법무보호복지사업 이용 유무에 미치는 심리적 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 보호사업 대상자의 부정적 사고, 낙인, 사회적 고립감, 책임전가가법무보호복지사업 이용 유무를 예측하는 심리적 변인이 될 수 있는지 파악하기위하여 수행되었다. 이를 위해 실제 보호사업 대상자인 교정시설 및 보호관찰소에서 처분을 받고 있는 성인, 청소년 999명을 설문하였고, 상관분석과 로지스틱회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 보호사업 이용 유무에 낙인과 사회적 고립감, 부정적 사고는 유의한 관계를 나타냈다. 구체적으로 각 성별에 따라 남성의 경우 사회적 고립감과 책임전가, 여성의 경우 부정적 사고가 보호사업 이용 유무에 유의한 영향을 나타냈다. 이러한 결과는 보호사업 대상자들의 심리적 특성이 보호사업 이용 유무에 중요한 요인임을 재확인한다. 결과적으로 보호사업 이용이 재범을 줄이기 위한 중요한 수단이라는 선행연구를 바탕으로 사회복귀 이전 충분한 심리적 개입의 중요성을 시사하는 바이다.

영문 초록

This study investigated whether psychological factors, such as negative thinking, labeling, social isolation, and blame game would influence on the use of reentry programmes provided by Korea Rehabilitation Agency. To explore, 999 juvenile delinquents and offenders who were in prison or juvenile detention center, or under probation service completed a questionnaire. Correlation analysis, and logistic regression analysis were used. The study found a significant relationship between the use of Korea Rehabilitation Agency’s reentry programmes, and psychological factors including labeling, social isolation, and negative thinking. More specifically, the psychological factors that influence on the use of reentry programmes are different regarding gender, for example social isolation and blaming game for male participants, and negative thinking for female participants. These results confirmed that the psychological factors of offenders have an important role in the determination to use reentry programmes. In consideration of the results from previous research revealed that reentry services are one of the important measures to reduce recidivism, these results implied that sufficient psychological interventions are required before re-integration into society.
