철학 개념의 확장과 교육철학의 과제

국문 초록

이번 논문에서는 교육철학 연구의 심화를 위해 검토해야 할 주제로 철학 개념의 확장을 모색해보았다. 동아시아철학, 인도철학, 이슬람철학은 각각 서양철학과 대면하는 과정에서 자신들의 철학의 발전과 성숙을 모색해왔음을 확인할 수 있다. 동아시아철학은 서양철학의 번역과 수용 과정에서 기존의 치밀한 형이상학적 성과를 계승하고 철학사 서술의 혁신을 도모해야하는 과제를 안고 있다. 인도철학은 그리스 로마 고전을 앞세운 영국 식민지배의 문화적 침공 속에서 『바가바드기타』와 『우파니샤드』 등 산스크리트 경전을 중심으로 적절한 대응에 성공하면서 서양철학에 종속되지 않은 철학체계의 정립에 성과를 거두었다. 이슬람철학은 초기에는 헬레니즘 학자들의 수용을 통해 형성된 팔사파흐가 지배적이었으나 수피의 각성을 철학의 영역에 포함시킨 히크마흐가 강조되며 보편적 정신세계의 구축에 성공했다. 다문화 사회로 진입하였지만 여전히 세계시민교육에 대한 필요성이 제기되는 한국의 교육학계와 학계 전반에서 철학에 대한 이해 변화를 통한 새로운 철학하기가 요구된다. 각 문명권의 대응방식을 검토함으로써 향후 한국 교육철학의 연구 방향과 과제에 대해 성찰할 수 있을 것으로 본다.

영문 초록

In this thesis, the researcher attempted to expand the concept of philosophy as a subject to be reviewed to deepen the study of educational philosophy. The Western philosophical perspective, a common understanding of philosophy, has contributed significantly to the development of educational philosophy. East Asian, Indian, and Islamic philosophies faced the task of establishing their own philosophies and sublimating them to a higher level of universality in encountering Western philosophies. East Asian philosophy faces the issue of failing to inherit the elaborate metaphysical achievements of the past, as imperialism and colonial rule overlap in concept translation and term selection. In contrast, Indian philosophy successfully redefined its achievements, such as translating and introducing Sanskrit scriptures like the Bhagavad Gita and Upanishad to the West amidst the cultural invasion of British colonial rule centered on Greek and Roman classics. In the early days of Islamic philosophy, the concept of falsafah, which was formed through the acceptance of Hellenism, dominated; however, hikmah, which included the awakening of Sufism in philosophy, starting with Ghazali, emerged again and succeeded in establishing a universal spiritual world. Although Korea has become an increasingly multicultural society, it is necessary to create a new philosophy by changing the understanding of philosophy in Korea's educational and academic world, where the need for global citizenship education persists.
