국문 초록

호텔객실 매출액에 대한 과학적인 예측은 호텔의 효율적 관리를 위해 유용한 정보를 제공하며, 호텔관리에 대해 중요한 영향을 미친다. 본 연구는 호텔 매출 데이터의 시계열 분석을 통해서 향후 호텔 매출액을 예측하고자 한다. 본 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해서 계절별 자기회귀 통합이동평균 모형(Seasonal ARIMA)을 적용하였으며, 계절 ARIMA 모형의 데이터는 2020년 1월 5일부터 2022년 10월 23일까지 부산의 4 성급 호텔 매출 데이터를 기반으로 하였다. 본 사례 대상 호텔의 객실 매출액 계절성은 계절 지수를 계산하고 시계열에 모델을 적용하여 모델링하고 예측을 진행하였다. 결과와 관련하여, Seasonal ARIMA(2, 1, 3)(1, 1, 1)[12] 모델은 사례대상 호텔의 객실 매출액을 예측할 때 최적의 성능을 제공해서 최종적으로 이 모형을 선택하였다. 모델 선택 및 예측 정확도에 대한 프로세스는 본 연구에서 자세한 설명이 제시된다. 본 연구의 결과는 사용된 연구 방법이 MAPE(평균절대오차 백분율)을 확인한 후에 평균 오차율이 0%≤ 6.51%≺10% 사이의 값을 보이는 것으로 예측 정확도가 아주 높다는 것을 보여준다. 따라서 본 모델은 호텔 정책 입안자와 호텔 운영자 모두에게 최적의 결정을 내릴 수 있고 미래의 위험을 관리하는데 활용될 수 있다고 사료된다.

영문 초록

Room sales forecasting is widely used in hotel management, which provides valuable information for efficient management, and has important implications for both policymakers and hotel operations in the hotel industry. Based on the analysis of the time series, future room sales of the hotel can be predicted through historical room sales of the hotel. In this research, we applied the Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average model(SARIMA) for forecasting the weekly sales of a hotel, and the dataset for the Seasonal ARIMA model is based on the Hotel's weekly room sales data, from January 05, 2020, to October 23, 2022. The seasonality of room sales of the hotel is modeled and forecasted by calculating the seasonal index and applying models to the time series. Regarding the results, the Seasonal ARIMA (2, 1, 3)(1, 1, 1)[12] model provides the best performance when predicting the room sales of the hotel. A detailed explanation of model selection and forecasting accuracy is presented. The results show that the proposed research method has good forecasting accuracy. Therefore, this model can be utilized by both policymakers and hotel operations in making optimal decisions and in managing future risks.
