국문 초록

이 논고는 최근 프랑스 현상학에서 철학과 신학의 관계가 어떻게 새롭게 구축되는지를 탐구한다. 특별히 이 논의는 우리 시대 깨져버린 철학과 신학의 관계를 재정립하는 데 앞장선 대표적인 현상학자인 레비나스와 마리옹에 초점을 맞춘다. 레비나스에게 신학은 다른 인간으로서 타인과 나의 마주함으로, 그리고 그러한 만남에서 비롯하는 윤리적인 책임과 더불어 시작되어야 하는 것인데, 이는 그가 신의 흔적을 타인에게서 찾아냄으로써 신-담론이 갱신될 수 있 드러날 수 있다고 믿기 때문이다. 마리옹은 인간의 신앙이 근원적 계시 체험에서 형성된다는 점에서 신학이 가장 탁월한 포화된 현상인 계시를 기술함으로써 재구성되어야 한다고 생각한다. 이렇게 두 사람 모두 현상학이 신학에 대한 새로운 이해를 긍정적으로나 부정적으로 촉진할 수 있다는 데 동의한다. 따라서 나는, 비록 레비나스와 마리옹에게 현상학은 신학을 대체할 수 없고, 양자가 서로 거리를 확실하게 유지해야 하지만, 현상학이 계시와 신에 대한 새로운 이해를 암시함으로써 신학적 연구에 새로운 활력을 부여할 수 있는 잠재력을 가진 것이 된다고 주장할 것이다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the newly developed link between philosophy and theology in recent French phenomenology. This conversation focuses specifically on Levinas and Marion, two prominent phenomenologists who led the way in redefining the broken relationship between philosophy and theology in our day. Levinas rejects traditional theology, yet he acknowledges the possibility of new explorations of God along with the ethical responsibility resulting from encounters with others. Particularly, he imagines the possibility of presenting a desired theology by tracing divine traces in such an ethical relationship. Marion believes that theology ought to be recreated by describing revelation as the most excellent saturated phenomena. Thus, both agree that phenomenology can positively or negatively encourage a new understanding of theology. Therefore, I would argue that phenomenology, while for Levinas and Marion it cannot replace theology, can provide new vigor to theological research by providing a new understanding of revelation and God while keeping a difference between phenomenological philosophy and theology.
