국문 초록

다문화사회가 된 21세기의 한국 학교에는 한국문화에 대한 노출 및 친숙함 정도가 같지 않은 학생들이 모여 있다. ‘한국문화 이해교육’이 더 중요한 ‘다문화학생’들과 ‘타문화 이해교육’이 더 필요한 ‘한문화학생’들이 서로 같지 않은 문화적 배경에 기인한 독자적인 특성을 지닌 채 어울려 살아간다. 이 학생들에게는 새 시대의 역량으로서 ‘문화능력’이 요구된다. 그것은 ‘서로 다른 다양한 문화 및 문화 간 차이를 인식하고 이해하고 존중하며 공동체의 삶을 가꾸어 가는 능력’으로 규정되며, ‘문화이해능력’과 ‘문화통합능력’ 및 ‘문화소통능력’으로 범주화된다. 학생들의 문화능력은 문화교육으로 길러질 수 있으나, 문화 교과가 없는 우리의 현실에서 문화교육은 들뢰즈(Gilles Deleuze)·가타리(Félix Guattari) 철학의 리좀(rhyzom)처럼, 땅속 감자와 같은 형태로, 각 교과 속에 산재되어 있으며, 서로 연결접속 될 수 있는 ‘다양체’의 속성으로 존재한다. 따라서 문화교육은 국어교과를 비롯한 여러 교과에서 두루 수행하는 범교과적 접근법에 따라 실현될 수밖에 없다. 이에 우리는 문화 혹은 다양한 문화의 세계를 소재 및 주제로 하는 문학작품을 중심으로 그것이 제공하는 문학경험을 범교과적으로 활용하여 ‘다문화학생’과 ‘한문화학생’의 문화능력을 기르는 문화교육의 계획을 마련해야 한다.

영문 초록

I suggest the cross-curricular culture education for students who have different cultural backgrounds. As Korean society has become a multi-cultural society, there are multi-cultural students whose parent was from foreign countries as well as native students who have Korean parents in school. However, an education plan for both native and multi-cultural students has been limited. It is required that they are provided a ‘cultural competence’ to adopt to and live in the Korea society together. ‘Cultural Competence’ is defined as an ability to recognize the difference between various cultures and understand each other. Because cultural education is implemented in different ways in the current curriculum and education system like “rhyzom” from Gilles Deleuze·Félix Guattari, an integrated and cross-curricular approach is required to give them the cultural competence. Therefore, I propose an integrated educational plan using literature which contains various cultures so that both students can experience and understand each different cultures, and then they finally acquire cultural competence from the cross-curricular culture education.
