독서교육, 어떤 텍스트로 가르칠 것인가

국문 초록

학교 교육을 통해서는 읽기 또는 독서의 매력을 느끼기가 쉽지 않다. 그것은 기본적으로 학교 교육이 가식적 맥락으로 이루어지기 때문이다. 학교 교육에서 다루어지는 교육 ‘내용’과 ‘방법’은 모두 조작된 것들 즉 거짓으로 꾸며진 것들이다. 따라서 이런 교육적 맥락에서 다루어지는 것들이 실제적 맥락으로 이어질 수 있도록 유도하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다. 독서교육은 텍스트를 다루는 교육이다. 따라서 어떤 텍스트로 가르치는 것인가가 중요한 문제가 된다. 일상생활에서의 실제적 독서 텍스트는 신토피콘과 같은 고전 설명서를 기준으로 선택될 수 있다. 반면, 목표지향적인 학교 교육 맥락에서는 학교 교육과정에 기반한 교과 역량과 국어 자료 예를 기준으로 선택되어야 한다. 독서교육은 삶의 실제적 맥락과 제도교육의 가식적 맥락을 연결하는 중요한 도구이다. 독서교육을 통해 다룰 텍스트 역시 이 두 가지 맥락이 적절히 고려되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

It is not easy to feel the attraction of reading books through schooling. Because school education is being done in the simulated context basically. Educational ‘contents’ and ‘methods’ that are implemented by schools are all decorated things. Therefore, this educational(or simulated) context is critical to be connected to the authentic context. Reading education is a training to deal with the texts. So which text you will teach is an important issue. The actual reading texts in everyday life may be selected based on the classic books commentary like syntopicon(the Great Ideas of the Great Books of the Western). On the other hand, the texts have to be selected based on the curriculum in school education that is related to the goal-oriented context. The curriculum includes the curriculum competencies and the examples of the reading resources. Reading education is an important instrument for connecting simulated and authentic context. The texts that are selected for reading education have to include both of them.
