국어과 내용으로서의 맥락에 대한 재고(再考)

국문 초록

이 글에서는 국어과에서 맥락 교육을 실현하기 위한 기반으로서 맥락의 개념, 기능, 유형, 성격 등에 대하여 논의하였다. 맥락은 개별 의사소통 장면에서 즉발되며, 의사소통 주체 개개인의 의미 구성과 표현 선택에 개입한다. 맥락은 구체적 실재인 텍스트의 성립과 밀접하게 관련되는 것으로, 고정되거나 외부에서 주어지는 것이라기보다는 의미 구성 주체의 선택과 인식 작용에 의해 활성화된다. 결국 맥락은 ‘개별 텍스트의 표현과 해석에 관여하는 다양한 요소 중 의미 구성 주체가 의미를 만들고 표현을 선택하는 과정에서 활성화시킨 요소’로 정의된다. 또한 기존 맥락 분류 논의의 문제점을 근거로 맥락을 텍스트 내적 맥락과 텍스트 외적 맥락으로 분류하였다. 이러한 개념의 맥락은 ‘잠재적 맥락’의 성격을 갖는 다양한 요소들 즉 ‘맥락 요소’와 구별된다. 다양한 맥락 요소 중 의미 구성 주체가 개별 텍스트의 표현과 이해를 위해서 활성화시킨 것이 맥락이다. 이러한 활성화 과정, 즉 맥락 요소를 적절하게 선택하고 활성화시키는 의미 구성 주체의 인지적 작용 또는 과정이 ‘맥락화’이다.

영문 초록

This article aims to analyze the conception, category, character of context. We focused on concept of context is a kind of prompt action while some several scene of communication. This context interfere individual’s composition of meaning and selection of expression. We rebuilt the concept of context that has intimately relevant to establishing text. So, It is not a kind of ‘fixed’ nor ‘given’ things, it activated by semantic composition agent’s selection and recognition of meaning. We tried to redefine that context is some kind of elements that was activated by semantic composition agent who has to express or interpret meaning. In order to settle this conception and definition, we have to distinguish ‘context-elements’ from context. because these elements are characterized as a potential ingredient fo context. In other words, context is activated by semantic composition agent to express or understand the each meaning of text. This progress of activation as semantic composition agent’s process of cognition, We called it ‘contextualization’.
