국문 초록

목적: 이 연구는 SF 소설의 문학교육적 함의에 주목하고, 청소년 학습자를 위한 SF 소설 교육 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 방법: SF 관련 문헌 연구 및 주요 SF 소설에 대한 텍스트 분석을 통해 문학교육적 함의를 추출하고, SF 장르의 특수성 및 문학교육적 보편성에 대한 탐색을 통해 문학교육 방안을 제안하였다. 결과: SF 소설은 과학적 개연성에 기반한 상상의 질문을 던지도록 함으로써 사고실험으로서의 독서를 수행하게 한다. SF 소설은 낯선 미래의 경유를 통해 현재를 새롭게 성찰할 수 있는 계기를 제공하기도 한다. 또한 SF 소설은 기술 발달과 함께 등장할 포스트휴먼 존재들과의 공존에 대한 상상력을 제공한다. 본 연구에서는 SF 소설의 문학교육적 함의로 과학에 기반한 성찰적 상상의 경험, 낯선 현재 경유하기의 경험, 포스트휴먼-되기의 경험을 추출하고, 이를 수용과 생산의 융합적 활동으로 구체화하였다. 결론: 기술 문명에 기반한 우리 시대를 가장 잘 반영하는 문학인 SF 소설 교육 경험을 통해 학습자들은 새로운 미래를 만들어가는 주체적 삶의 역량을 기를 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study focused on the literary implications of science fiction(SF) novels, seeking ways to educate them. Methods: This study extracted literary education implications through literature research related to SF and text analysis of major SF novels. Results: SF novels ask hypothetical questions based on scientific probability, allowing students to imagine alternative experiences and examine the present and reflect on the future. SF novels provide imaginary contexts for familiar human challenges—for example, meeting with new beings and adjusting to technological devel- opments. This study extracted the experience of reflective imagination based on science, the experience of passing through unfamiliar present, and the experience of becoming a posthuman as the implications of literary education in SF novels. And this study explored ways to educate SF novels based on the convergent activities of acceptance and production. Conclusion: SF novels can be both a literary genre and a specialized form of social studies because of the rapid technological advances of our time. Learning through SF novels provides students with a framework to develop the self-directed life abilities they will need to choose their own futures.
