인터넷 도박 중독 청소년의 낙인 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 인터넷 도박에 중독된 청소년들이 경험한 ‘낙인’에 대해 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 두고 있다. 이를 위해 인터넷 도박을 시작한지 최소 1년 이상이 된 중, 고등학생 12명을 연구참여자로 선정하였다. 선정된 연구참여자들의 구술자료를 얻기 위해 연구자는 1:1 심층면담을 진행하였으며 수집된 자료는 Giorgi(1970; 1985)가 제시한 현상학적 연구방법의 절차에 따라 분석했다. 분석결과, 총 5개의 주제들과 12개의 공통 의미단위들을 추출할 수 있었다. 연구참여자들은 ‘차별적인 호칭’, ‘편견’, ‘또래의 비난’, ‘관계의 단절’, ‘교사와 친구들의 차별적인 대우’를 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 연구자는 인터넷에 중독된 청소년들의 낙인 경험을 최소화하기 위한 정책적, 실천적 함의를 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the 'stigma' experienced by adolescents addicted to Internet gambling. For this purpose, 12 middle and high school students who had been online gambling for at least one year were selected as the study participants. To obtain oral data of the selected research participants, the researcher conducted a 1:1 in-depth interview, and the collected data were analyzed according to the procedure of the phenomenological research method suggested by Giorgi (1970; 1985). As a result of the analysis, a total of 5 themes and 12 common semantic units could be extracted. The study participants were found to have experienced 'discriminatory title', 'prejudice', 'reproach from peers', 'severance of relationship', and 'discriminatory treatment by teachers and friends'. Based on these research results, the researcher discussed the policy and practical implications of minimizing the stigma experience of adolescents addicted to the Internet.
