시댁, 친정 부모와의 지원 교환은 공평한가?

국문 초록

본 연구는 기혼 여성자녀가 시부모 및 친정부모와의 세대 간 관계에서 느끼는 지원 교환 호혜성 수준은 어떠한지 그리고 양가 부모와의 지원 교환 호혜성 간에 차이가있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 충청남도 지역 유치원에 재원중인 원아를둔 어머니 327명을 대상으로 세대 간 지원 교환의 호혜성을 조사하였다. 집단 간 차이를 분석하기 위하여 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 t-Test, 일원분산분석, paired t-Test를 실시하였다. 분석을 통하여 나타난 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 시부모와의 관계에서 시부모에게 자녀가 주는 지원 교환에서 받는 지원과 주는 지원 간의 호혜성 비교 결과, 지원의 총합, 도구적 지원, 경제적 지원, 정보적 지원 면에서 시부모에게 받는 것보다 더 많이 제공하고 있어 호혜적이지 않다고 지각하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 친정부모와의 지원 교환에서는 시부모의 경우와는 반대로 지원의 총합과정서적 지원, 정보적 지원에서 친정부모에게 받는 지원이 친정부모에게 제공하는 지원보다 많다고 지각하였다. 셋째, 여성자녀들은 정서적 지원, 도구적 지원, 경제적 지원, 정보적 지원 및 전체 지원 총합 모두 친정부모에게 더 많은 지원을 받고 경제적 지원을 제외한 정서적 지원, 도구적 지원, 정보적 지원 및 지원 총합에서 시부모보다 친정부모에게 더 많은 지원을 제공하는 모계화 및 양계화 경향을 보였다. 마지막으로 연구결과에 기초하여 향후 가족문제 해결 및 세대갈등의 문제를 해결하기 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the reciprocity of intergenerational support exchanges and its characteristics which married women feel in the intergenerational relationship with their own parents and parents-in-law. For the purpose, we investigated the reciprocity of intergenerational support exchanges on 327 married women with children attending kindergartens in Chungcheongnam-Do using a structured questionnaire. To verify the difference between groups, we conducted t-test, one-way ANOVA, and paired t-test using SPSS 21.0. The main results were as follows: 1) In the relationship with parents-in-law, the subjects felt that they were giving more total, instrumental, economic, and information support to their parents-in-law than they were receiving from their parents-in-law; 2) On the contrary, the subjects felt that they were receiving more total, emotional, and informational support from their pro-parents than they were giving to their pro-parents were; 3) The subjects showed matrilinealization or bilateralization that they received more emotional, instrumental, economic, informational, and total support from their pro-parents than form their parents-in-law, and they gave more emotional, instrumental, informational, and total support to their pro-parents than to their parents-in-law. Finally, based on the research results, we proposed some suggestions to resolve family problems and intergenerational conflicts in the future.
