국문 초록

본 논문은 남강 이승훈의 세계관과 사상에 관한 연구이다. 남강은 1907년 도산 안창호를 만난 후 민족과 교육에 눈을 뜨기 시작한 후 1930년 타계할 때까지 23년 간을 오직 민족을 위해 헌신하였다. 그는 신교육의 요람으로 오산학교를 설립하였고 비밀결사단체인 신민회에 가입하였을 뿐만 아니라 3.1운동의 주역으로 참여하였다. 이후에도 그는 조국의 광복을 위해 매진하였다. 이러한 그의 활동은 결코 우연한 것이 아니라 그의 확고부동한 세계관과 사상의 결과였다. 그의 세계관은 크게 성실, 용기 그리고 솔선수범의 차원에서 설명할 수 있다. 그리고 그의 사상은 첫째, 민족본위론을 지적할 수 있다. 민족본위론은 민족의 주체력을 기초한다. 민족이 주체적인 힘과 자결능력이 없으면 결코 민족국가를 보존하기 힘들다는 것이다. 둘째, 그의 사상은 교육구국론으로 귀결된다. 그의 교육구국론은 교육과 국가의 결합론을 의미한다. 교육을 통한 인쟁양성이 바로 구국의 길이라는 것이다. 마지막으로 그는 민족자본규합론을 강조하고 있다. 민족자본이 축적되어 있지 않으면 외세의 개입과 침략이 강화될 것이라는 것이 바로 민족자본규합론의 핵심적 생각의 기초이다. 민족자본의 융성과 축적을 통해 그는 자립적 경제력을 구축하고자 했다.

영문 초록

This paper is a study on the world view and thought of Nam Gang, Lee Seung-Hoon. After meeting Dosan Ahn Chang-Ho in 1907, the Nam Gang began to open its eyes to the people and education and devoted 23 years to the people only until its death in 1930. He founded Osan School(오산학교) as a cradle for new education and joined the secret society Shin Min-hoe(신민회), as well as participated in the March 1 Movement. Later, he went out of his way to celebrate his country's liberation. These activities were by no means accidental, but the result of his firm view of the world and ideas. His view of the world can be explained largely in terms of sincerity, courage and initiative. And his ideas can point firstly to the theory of ethnicity. Ethnic fundamentalism is based on national self-reliance. They say it is difficult to preserve a nation's national anthem without its own power and self-determination. His theory of education and salvation means the combination of education and the state. It is said that fostering human strife through education is the way to save the country. Finally, he is emphasizing the theory of national capital. It is the basis of the core idea of the theory of national capital that if national capital is not accumulated, foreign intervention and aggression will be strengthened. Through the fusion and accumulation of national capital, he sought to build up a self-reliant economic power.
