국문 초록

본 논문은 단재 신채호의 군사사상을 분석하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 신채호의 생애와 주요저서, 신채호의 군사관련 연구와 사상을 살펴본 후 결론(요약 및 현대적 함의)을 도출해본 것이다. 신채호는 조선말기·일제강점기의 대표적인 역사가·언론인·사상가·독립운동가였다. 그의 사상은 정치, 역사, 국가, 사회, 철학, 문학 등 다양한 분야에 걸쳐 형성되어 있고, 역사학자·철학자·정치학자의 연구문헌들이 있지만 군사사상에 관한 연구논문은 찾아보기 어렵다. 단재의 사상은 낭가사상(郎家思想), ‘무정부주의,’ ‘무장투쟁론(武裝鬪爭論),’ ‘민중주의’ 등으로 나눌수 있으며, 그의 군사사상은 낭가사상, 구국영웅대망론(救國英雄待望論), 무장투쟁론 등으로 요약·정리해볼 수 있다. 그의 군사사상은 역사주체가 민족에서 민중으로, 투쟁방법이 민족자강에서 민중폭력혁명으로 변화를 보였지만 한일합병이후 그의 일관된 목표는 조국독립을 위한 불굴의 투쟁이었다. 요컨대 단재의 군사사상은 민족의 역사와 관련해서는 의식(consciousness)이 무엇보다도 중요하지만 이러한 역사를 지킬 수 있는 힘(power)도 함께 있어야 한다는 교훈을 가르쳐주고 있다.

영문 초록

This paper is to analyze the military thought of Dan Jae Shin Che-ho. To this end, the paper is composed of 4 chapters titled introduction; the life and major works of Shin Chae-ho; military research and thought by Shin Chae-ho; and conclusion(summary and modern implications). Shin Chae-ho was a representative historian, journalist, thinker, and independent activist in the late Joseon Dynasty and Japanese colonial period. His thoughts are formed in various fields such as politics, history, country, society, philosophy, and literature. There are research papers of historians, philosophers, political scientists, but research papers on military thought are hard to find. The thoughts of Daejae can be divided into Nangga(郎家) thought(Korean traditional thought), anarchism, armed struggle theory, and populism. His military thought can be summarized as Nangga idea, the theory of the emergence of heroes in war, and armed struggle theory. In his military thoughts, the main actors of history changed from nation to people, and method of struggle, from strengthening nation-self to people’s violence revolution, but his consistent goal after Japanese annexation of Korea in 1910 was an indomitable struggle for national independence. In short, Danjae's military thought teaches the lesson that the consciousness is the most important thing in relation to the history of the nation, but there must also be the power to keep this history.
