수학적 모델링 관점에 따른 2015 개정 중학교 수학 교과서 과제 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 중학교 수학 교과서의 실세계 맥락 과제가 수학적 모델링 과정을 유의미하게 경험할 수 있는 기회를 충분히제공하고 있는지 살펴보는 것이다. 설정한 분석틀에 근거하여 2015 개정중학교 수학 교과서 10종의 실세계 맥락 과제를 ‘위장 맥락’과 ‘상황과관련된 본질적인 맥락’으로 구분하여 교과서별, 학년별, 영역별로 분석하였으며 ‘상황과 관련된 본질적인 맥락’ 유형의 과제를 대상으로 하여나타나는 수학적 모델링 과정을 분석하였다. 그 결과 학생들이 유의미한맥락을 충분히경험할 수 있는교과서의 과제가 양적으로 매우 부족하였으며 유의미한 맥락의 과제에서도 수학적 모델링 과정을 온전히 경험할수 없으며 분절적이고 제한적으로만 경험할 수 있었다. 또한 현재 교과서는 교과서별, 학년별, 영역별로 경험할 수 있는 수학적 모델링 과정의편차가 매우 컸다. 본 연구의 결과가 향후 수학적 모델링 관련 교과서과제 개발에 대한 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to investigate opportunities to experience mathematical modeling process in tasks with realistic context in middle school mathematics textbooks under the 2015 revised national curriculum. Analyzing 10 different kinds of middle school mathematics textbooks based on the analysis frame, we found that tasks with relevant and essential context were quite less than tasks with camouflage context. For mathematical modeling process in the tasks with relevant and essential context, there were not enough opportunities to experience mathematical modeling process given in mathematics textbooks. Particular stages of mathematical modeling process were heavily provided and there was no task dealing with the whole mathematical modeling process. And there was huge variation among mathematics modeling of tasks across textbooks, grade levels, and content areas. This study offers meaningful implications for the future research and development of tasks in mathematics textbooks.
