경찰관의 건강관리 경험과 지원요구에 대한 초점집단 면접연구

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 경찰관의 건강관리 경험들을 중심으로 어떠한 건강관리 지원 요구들이 있는지를 살펴보고 경찰관의 건강관리와 직업복지 증진방안 을 제시하는 데 있다. 연구 방법으로는 초점집단면접 방법을 사용하였으며 초점집단면접 조사의 결과에서 3개의 대범주와 13개의 하위범주와 관련 개 념들을 도출할 수 있었다. 주요 연구 결과로는 첫째, 경찰관의 건강위험요인 에서는 교대근무와 직무 특성별로 다른 직업병 그리고 스트레스 관리의 어 려움 등이 주된 요인으로 지목되었다. 둘째, 경찰관의 건강관리 지원 요구에 서는 특수건강검진에 대한 높은 요구도와 경찰병원과 정신건강 증진을 위한 마음동행센터에 대한 지원 확대 그리고 근무환경 개선의 필요성이 제기되었 다. 셋째, 정책적 대안에서는 야근 근무 형태의 조정과 공무상 요양 처리의 현실화와 지역별 거점병원의 지정 그리고 건강관리정보제공과 직업복지 지 원체계 개선 등의 의견이 도출되었다. 결론에서는 경찰관의 건강관리에 효 과적이라고 보이는 근무환경의 개선과 조직적 차원에서의 건강관리 지원정책을 강화하여 일선 경찰관들이 안정적으로 직업생활을 유지하고 더 나은 지역사회의 치안 전문가로서 거듭날 수 있도록 하는 등 경찰관의 직업복지 의 새로운 방향성에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to suggest a more effective direction for improving the health and occupational welfare of police officers by analyzing their work experiences and the support needs for health care at the organizational level. The focus group interview was used, and 3 major categories and 13 subcategories derived from the interview findings. As results of our study, first, among the health risk factors for police officers, three things were pointed out as the main factors: which were shift work, different occupational disease by job characteristics, and difficulties in continuous health management. Second, among the police officer’s support needs for health management, the study participants emphasized which were the high quality of special health checkups, the need for expanding police hospital services, and the services of ‘Mind Support Center’ for mental health promotion. Third, among policy supports, adjustment of overtime work patterns, expansion of health and welfare benefits, securing the number of regional base hospitals, provision of useful health management information, and improvement of occupational welfare systems were derived. In conclusion, the improvement of the work environment, which appears to be effective for the health management of police officers, and the strengthening support policies for organizational health management can maintain a stable professional life of police officers.
