통일교육에서의 통일담론의 포용성 논의

국문 초록

통일교육은 남북 긴장을 완화하며, 상호 불신 속에서 내부적 통합을만들어내려는 경향성을 동시에 갖고 있다. 이러한 양 방향의 입장이 실제로 통일교육 내용 안에서 평화와 안보의 맥락으로 존재한다. 그렇기에 북한을 바로 보려는 노력에 있어서 통일교육은 남북 우호와 긴장의유지라는 내용을 함축하고 있다. 이러한 측면에서 2020년대에 전개되는 대한민국 통일교육은 그 효과가 분단에 대해 소극적 통일 의지를 나타내거나 또는 분단 영구론의 입장이 드러나기도 한다. 그렇기에 국가통일 교육정책의 진행과정은 전반적인 재검토와 시민적 논의를 다시 거론하여야 할 시기에 이르렀다. 보다 나은 상황을 우리는 잘 파악하고우리 스스로 통일교육의 진척과 그 효과를 잘 진행하여 평화와 안보를잘 준비하는 통일로의 길로 진척하여야 할 것이다. 앞으로 통일교육은우리 사회의 모순 극복을 위한 분단에서의 통일로의 길, 그리고 권위주의에서 민주주의로의 길을 분명 제시하는 교육으로 전개되어야 한다.

영문 초록

Unification education has developed under different governments. First of all, it has both a direction to alleviate tensions between the two Koreas and a tendency to heighten mutual distrust. In particular, the Korean society in the 2020s is revealing a passive will for unification due to division or a stance on the perpetuity of division. In this context, the progress of the national unification education policy has come to a time when civic discussions should be emphasized. If the conflict between the two Koreas escalates, it can be seen that the citizens' perception of unification fundamentally changes to a very conservative and passive attitude. We need to understand the better situation well and evaluate the progress and effects of unification education on our own, so as to advance the important awareness of the choice of peaceful unification. In the future, education for unification should be developed as an education that clearly shows the path from division to unification and from authoritarianism to democracy to overcome the contradictions in our society.
