코로나19로 인한 소득 및 감정변화가 일상적 이타행동 의향에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 코로나19 팬데믹 상황에서 시민들의 일상적인 이타행동에 대한 의향을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 특히 코로나19로 인해 경험한 소득의 변화와 감정의 변화에 주목하여, 이러한 변화 경험요인의 향후 기부와 자원봉사 참여 의향에 대한 영향력을 살핀다. 또한, 기존에 개인이 경험한 기부와 자원봉사에 대한 참여 수준의 영향력을 함께 분석한다. 이를 위해 2020년 서울복지실태조사의 서울시 3,027가구 자료를 활용했으며, 모형검증을 위해 다항로지스틱 회귀분석 방법을 적용했다. 분석 결과는 첫째, 표본의 약 70%는 가구소득에 변동이 없고, 약 60%는 감정상태가 부정적으로 변화한 경향성을 보였으나, 이러한 코로나19에서의 소득변화와 감정변화는 시민들의 일상적 이타행동 의향에 대하여 유의미한 영향력을 갖지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 시민들의 과거 이타적 행동 참여 수준, 즉 기부금액과 자원봉사 횟수는 코로나19로 인한 감정변화와 함께 향후 일상적 이타행동에 정(+)적 방향으로의 조절효과가 나타났다. 본 연구는 감염 재난인 코로나19 상황에서 특정 재난 영역에 한정된 기부 및 자원봉사에 대한 양상을 넘어서 시민들의 일반적인 이타적 행동 양상을 실증적으로 검증했다는 점에서 연구의 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

This study focuses on analyzing the willingness of citizens for altruistic behavior in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, paying attention to changes in income and emotions experienced due to COVID-19, we examine the influence of these change experiences on willingness to giving and volunteer participation in the future. In addition, we also examine the influence of the level of participation in giving and volunteering experienced by individuals. For this examination, data of 3,027 households in Seoul from the 2020 Seoul Welfare Survey was used, and a Multinomial Logistic Regression analysis method was applied. As a result, firstly, about 70% of the sample showed no change in household income and about 60% of the sample showed a negative tendency to change in emotional state. It was found to have no significant effect on willingness. Secondly, the level of former participation of citizens in altruistic behavior, that is, the amount of giving and the number of volunteering, had a positive (+) moderating effect on altruistic behavior in the future along with emotional changes due to COVID-19. This study is meaningful in that it empirically examines citizens' general altruistic behavior willingness beyond the aspects of giving and volunteer work limited to a specific disaster area in the situation of COVID-19, an infectious disaster.
