국문 초록

현재, COVID-19로 인해 비대면 상태가 지속되면서, 사람 간의 만남이 줄어들고 있는 상황에서 급부상하는 것이 바로 메타버스이다. 이러한 메타버스(metaverse), 확장 가상 세계는 가상, 초월을 의미하는, '메타'(meta)와 세계, 우주를 의미하는 '유니버스'(universe)를 합성한 신조어이다. 또 다른 표현으로는 '가상 우주'라고 번역하기도 한다. 메타버스는 1992년 출간한 닐 스티븐슨의 소설 '스노 크래시'에서 가장 먼저 사용했다. 이는 3차원에서 실제 생활과 법적으로 인정한 활동인 직업, 금융, 학습 등이 연결된 가상 세계를 뜻한다. 가상현실, 증강현실의 상위 개념으로서, 현실을 디지털 기반의 가상 세계로 확장해 가상 공간에서 모든 활동을 할 수 있게 만드는 시스템이다. 구체적으로 정치와 경제, 사회, 문화 전반적 측면에서, 현실과 비현실이 공존하는 생활형, 게임형 가상 세계, 가상부동산 이라는 의미로 폭넓게 사용하기도 한다. 본 논문은 메타버스와 가상부동산 활용을 통한 문제점과 메타버스의 미래의 발전방향과 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 첫째, 현재 명확하게 정의되지 않은 메타버스에 대한 종합적인 개념 및 정의에 대한 고찰을 하고, 둘째, 메타버스와 가상부동산의 활용 범위 및 이용자들에게 가치 있는 생산성의 기회가 제공되는 가에 대한 문제점을 파악하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Currently, Metaverse is rapidly emerging in a situation where human encounters are decreasing due to COVID-19 continuing to be non-face-to-face. This metaverse and extended, virtual world are newly coined words that combine "meta," which means virtual and transcendent, and "universe," which means the world and the universe. Another expression is translated as 'virtual universe'. Metaverse was first used in Neil Stevenson's 1992 novel "Snow Crash." This refers to a virtual world in which real life in three dimensions and legally recognized activities, such as job, finance, and learning are connected. As a higher concept of virtual reality and augmented reality, it is a system that expands reality into a digital-based virtual world so that all activities can be performed in a virtual space. Specifically, in terms of politics, economy, society, and culture as a whole, it is widely used in the sense of living type, game-type virtual world, and virtual real estate where reality and non-realization coexist. This study should first consider, the concept and definition of metaverse, which is not clearly defined, and secondly, the scope of use of metaverse and virtual property, the two-way circulation of metaverse and other platforms, and establish a sound and stable, metaverse ecosystem. For this reason, the purpose of this paper is to activate the safety of metaverse and virtual real estate and the community of users so that they can be further developed.
