국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 40-50대 중장년 성인을 대상으로 사회적 지지(가족 지지, 친구 지지)가 음주 수준과 스마트폰 과의존 수준에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 사회적 지지와 음주 및 스마트폰 과의존의 관계에서 우울 증상의 매개효과를 조사하는데 있다. 본 연구는 2021년에 실시한 온라인 설문조사를 사용하였고 자료 분석을 위해서 구조방정식모형을 활용하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가족 지지는 음주 수준을 감소시켰으나 친구 지지는 음주 수준을 높이는 결과를 보였다. 둘째, 가족 지지와 친구 지지는 우울 증상을 감소시켰으나 우울 증상은 음주와 스마트폰 과의존 수준에 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 사회적 지지와 음주 수준의 관계에서 우울 증상은 부분 매개효과를 보였고, 사회적 지지와 스마트폰 과의존 수준의 관계에서 우울 증상은 완전 매개효과를 나타냈다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 중장년층의 음주 및 스마트폰 과의존 문제에 대처하기 위한 사회복지실천 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of social support(family and friends) on alcohol drinking and smartphone overdependence and to investigate the mediating effects of depressive symptoms on the associations among social support, alcohol drinking and smartphone overdependence among middle-aged adults in their 40s and 50s. This study used an online survey conducted in 2021 and structural equation modeling was used for data analyses. The key results are as follows: first, family support reduced alcohol drinking levels, while friend support increased alcohol drinking levels. Second, both family and friends support decreased depressive symptoms but depressive symptoms had negative impacts on alcohol drinking and smartphone overdependence. Third, depressive symptoms demonstrated the partial mediation effects on the association between social support and alcohol drinking and the full mediation effects on the association between social support and smartphone overdependence. Based on the study findings, we discussed social work practice measures for dealing with the issues of problem drinking and smartphone overuse among middle-aged adults.
