국문 초록

본 논문은 호남지역에 산재된 53개 선교사의 묘지에 대한 지리정보를 구축한 연구이다. 1892년 한국에 전래된 미남장로회 선교사 묘소에 대한 지리정보 DB를 구축하여 선교사들의 묘지 현황을 파악하고 묘지를 효율적으로 관리하며 묘지 정보제공 및 자료 공유를 목적으로 하였다. 향후 모니터링 시스템인 묘지 DB가 필요하며, 정보의 활용성, GIS와 연계한 원활한 분석, DB의 확장성을 고려한 선택적 DB도 재검토되어야 한다. DB 선정은 데이터, 데이터 용량, 연산속도와 직접적인 관련이 되기 때문에 데이터의 종류, 빈도, 활용을 고려한 데이터의 순위화가 중요하다. 묘지의 지리정보 데이터베이스는 역사·문화적 가치를 지닌 묘적 정보를 확보하는 동시에 체계적 관리가 가능함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This paper is a study that established geographic information on 53 missionary cemeteries scattered in the Ho Nam region. This study aims to identify the status of missionaries’ graveyards, efficient management of cemeteries, and research, provide information, and share data by establishing a geographic information DB on missionary graves of the Southern Presbyterian Mission which was introduced to Korea in 1892. In order to utilize the cemetery DB, a monitoring system is needed in the future, and selective DB considering the usability of information, smooth analysis linked to GIS, and scalability of DB should also be reconsidered. The reason is that DB selection is directly related to data, data capacity, and computational speed, so it is important to rank data in consideration of data type, frequency, and usability. The database of cemetery geographic information suggests that it is possible to secure and systematically manage grave information with historical and cultural values.
