지적장애 학생의 단어 읽기 정확도 향상을 위한 음운변동중재 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 음운변동중재가 음독에 어려움을 보이는 지적장애 학생의 단어 읽기 정확도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이에 글자와 소리 대응관계의 원리를 이해하여 규칙단어를 읽는데 어려움을 보이지 않지만 음운변동 단어를 읽는데 어려움을 보이는 지적장애 학생 1명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 본 연구는 중재 효과를 확인하기 위해 AB설계를 적용하여 기초선, 중재, 유지 단계에서 음운변동이 적용되는 비단어의 읽기 정확도를 평가하였으며, 음운변동이 적용되는 의미단어에 대해서는 사전사후 검사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 중재가 시작되면서 음운변동이 적용되는 비단어의 읽기 정확도가 기초선에 비해 지속적으로 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었으며, 중재가 종결된 후 유지검사를 실시했을 때도 비단어 읽기 정확도의 향상이 유지되는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 음운변동이 적용되는 의미단어 읽기 정확도도 사전 검사에 비해 사후 검사에서 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 음독에 어려움을 보이는 학생들에게 음운변동중재가 읽기 정확도를 향상시키는 데 유용할 수 있음을 확인하였다는데 의의가 있다. 그러나 단일 사례를 토대로 한 결과이기 때문에 일반화를 위해서는 후속 연구가 지속될 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

This study investigated whether phonological rule-based instruction improved word reading accuracy of students with intellectual disabilities who have decoding difficulty. Therefore, one student with intellectual disabilities participated in this study. She did not have a problem in reading regular words but phonological change words. This study applied the AB design to confirm the effect of the intervention and evaluated the accuracy of phonological change non-word reading in the baseline, intervention, and maintenance phases. In addition, a pretest-posttest design was applied to check the progress in reading phonological change words. As a result, it was confirmed that as the intervention continued, the reading accuracy of non-words with phonological change improved gradually compared to the baseline, and the effects were maintained after the intervention finished. In addition, the reading accuracy of words with phonological change also improved compared to the results between the pretest and the posttest. It is meaningful that this study proved the phonological rule-based instruction is effective to improve reading accuracy for students who have decoding difficulty. However, since the results have been obtained based on a single case, the results of this study are not enough to generalize, so further studies are needed to gather more evidence.
