국문 초록

이 논문이 추구하려는 문제 제기의 출발은 역경 구조와 방원도가 어떻게 예술에 스며드는지 밝히려는 시도이다. 자고로 역경은 연산(連山)･귀장(歸藏)･주역의 3역(三易)을 바탕으로 삼는다. 이에 역경 원리는 변화의 장으로써 태극(太極)･양의(兩儀)･사상(四象)･팔괘(八卦)의 과정을 근거 짓는다. 역의 64괘는 건과 곤이 끊임없이 상호 작용하는 이치를 품는다. 역의 천지 원리에서 천은 원형, 지는 사각형을 상징한다. ‘주역육십사별괘도(周易六十四別卦圖)’에서는 ‘일원일방(一圓一方)’과 ‘일동일정(一動日靜)’으로써 음양에 근거한 천지 만물의 조합을 이룬다. 더불어 하도와 낙서 구조는 ‘체용(體用)’ 원리를 따른다. 즉 하도는 원으로서 양이며, 낙서는 각으로서 음이다. 또한 하도의 선천 8괘는 체성(體性)이자 좌선(左旋)의 상생 관계이며, 낙서의 후천 8괘는 용성(用性)이자 우전(右轉)의 상생 관계이다. 방원도의 예술성은 무위이화(無爲而化)의 개념으로 허공에 따른 감화를 품는 데 기인한다. 즉, 인위에서 떠난 상태로 비존재, 무형, 무심을 추구하는 데 따른다. 이는 우주 만물의 변화 원리인 역리 현상이 인간 사상과 미술품에 스며들면서 방원도를 표상화로 이끄는 계기를 창출한 셈이다.

영문 초록

The ‘Square and Circle Patterns(方圓圖)’ of ‘The Book of Changes(易經)’ and the art theory of resonance. The starting point of this paper is to try to clarify the structure of ‘The Book of Changes(易經)’ and how ‘Square and Circle Patterns(方圓圖)’ penetrate into art. The Book of Changes is based on the Three Changes(三易) of ‘Lian Shan(連山)’, ‘Gui Cang(歸藏)’, and ‘the Book of Changes(周易)’. The Book of Changes principle is a place of change, the entity of the cosmos(太極), Liangyi(兩儀), Sasang(四象), eight trigrams(八卦) Process. The sixty-four hexagrams of Changes have a constant interplay between Geon and Gon. In the principle of Changes of the Heaven and Earth(天地), Heaven is a circle, and Earth is a square. In ‘Juyeog-yugsibsabyeolgwaedo(周易六十四別卦圖)’, ‘One Square and One Circle(一圓一方)’ and ‘one movement and one calmness(一動日靜)’, it is a combination of all things according to Yin-Yang. In addition, the Hadu-luoshu structure follows the principle of Substance-Function(體用). In other words, Hetu is a circle as a Yang, and Luoshu is a Yin as an angle. In addition, the seongcheon 8gwae of Hetu is a co-relation of cheseong(體性) and jwaseon(左旋), and the huchheon 8gwae of Luoshu is a yongseong(用性) and ujeon(右轉) It is a win-win relationship. The artistry of ‘Square and Circle Patterns’ is attributed to the influence of the empty space(虛空) as a concept of ‘non-doing, then changing(無爲而化)’. In other words, it follows the pursuit of Not-Being(非存在), Formless(無形), No-Mind(無心) in a state of departing from human activity. In the end, ‘Providence phenomenon of change’ penetrates into human thought and art, and the phenomenon of ‘the whole creation’ is transformed into Representation of ‘Square and Circle Patterns’ As well.
