책 관련 라디오 프로그램의 현황과 특성에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 주요 방송사의 책 관련 라디오 프로그램의 편성 현황을 살펴보고, 수도권 지역 대학생들의 책 관련 라디오 프로그램에 대한 생각을 알아보고자 하였다. 설문 조사는 2021년 12월 12일부터 12월 25일까지 수도권 지역 대학생 108명을 대상으로 하여 이루어졌다. 연구 결과 첫째, 주요 방송사의 책 관련 라디오 프로그램 중 EBS가 편성 시간, 다양성이 가장 높게 나타났고, 대부분 새벽 시간대에 편성되어 있었다. 둘째, 대학생들은 책 관련 라디오 프로그램이 지식 및 정보 획득, 교양 및 인격 형성에 기여한다고 평가했다. 셋째, 책 관련 라디오 프로그램 청취 후 도서를 구매한 경험은 적게 나타났으나, 도서 구매와 다른 사람들에게 추천할 의사에 미치는 영향은 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구는 첫째, 라디오 방송의 공익성 개념을 보완할 필요가 있고 둘째, 공익성 실현을 위해 책 관련 라디오 프로그램의 편성 시간대의 조정이 필요하며 셋째, 그 형태나 내용적인 면에서도 청취자와의 소통을 고려하여 구성할 필요가 있음을 제언한다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the status of the scheduling of book-related radio programs produced by major domestic broadcasters and the opinions of college students residing in the Seoul metropolitan areas on book-related radio programs. According to the research results, EBS was rated highest for scheduled time and diversity; however, most of the programs were scheduled during time slots such as early morning, making them difficult for listeners to access. Second, college students agreed on the need for book-related radio programs and believe that such programs contribute to helping them acquire knowledge and information as well as cultivate their minds. Third, the number of times a book was purchased after listening to a radio program on the same title was shown to be low, but the programs significantly influenced the intent to purchase a book and recommend it to others. Therefore, this study proposes the following: first, there is a need to supplement the concept of public interest in radio programming; second, book-related radio programs should adjust scheduling to realize their public interest role; and third, it is necessary to construct the format and content of such programs based on communication with listeners.
