국문 초록

松亭 河受一(1553~1612)은 南冥 曺植(1501~1572)의 제자인 覺齋 河沆(1538~1590)으로부터 南冥學의 핵심을 전수받아 謙齋 河弘度(1593~1666)에게 이어준 인물이다. 각재는 물론 겸재가 남명학파에서 차지하는 위상을 생각해 본다면, 송정은 남명학파에서 중요한 비중을 차지하는 인물이라고 평가할 수 있다. 송정은 사물을 관찰하여 자신에게 돌이켜 반성하는 ‘觀物反己’의 수양 방법을 견지하였으며, 이것은 그가 문학작품을 창작하는 데에 중요한 動因으로 작용하였다. 그렇기에 송정에게 있어서는 문학작품의 창작이 관물반기의 수양을 심화시키는 연장선상에 있다고 이해된다. 송정의 학문과 문학은 서로 상보적인 관계에 있으며, 수양과 실천을 강조한 남명학파의 학문적 특성이 문학에까지 확장된 형태라고 파악할 수 있다. 다만 남명은 시를 짓는 것이 수양을 하는 데에 방해가 된다고 경계한 반면에, 송정은 수양을 위한 하나의 방법으로 문학을 적극 활용함으로써 그 효용적 가치를 인정한 점이 다르다고 말할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Songjeong Ha Soo-il is a person who inherited the essence of the Nammyeong studies from Gakjae Ha Hang, who was a pupil of Nammyeong Jo Sik, and handed it down to Gyeomjae Ha Hong-do. Given the status not only of Gakjae but also of Gyeomjae in the Nammyeong school, Songjeong may be evaluated as being a figure who is of great importance in the Nammyeong school. Songjeong held on to the cultivation method of ‘Gwanmulbangi’, which enables one to look back on and reflect on himself through the observation of an object, and which served as an important driving force for him in the creation of literary works. Therefore, to Songjeong, the creation of literary works is understood to be in the continuum of deepening the cultivation of Gwanmulbangi. Songjeong’s studies and literature are complementary, and they may be identified as being in the form in which the academic characteristics of the Nammyeong school, which had emphasized cultivation and practice were extended even to literature. However, Nammyeong was different from Songjeong in that Nammyeong guarded against the composition of a poem, believing that it would impair cultivation, whereas Songjeong actively utilized literature as one of the means of cultivation, thereby approving its value in usefulness.
