Recent studies of Chinese poetry have shown a tendency to categorize Chinese works according to their themes, rather than to classify them based on their authors. This current stream could be understood as a trial to unearth and provide cultural contents which have come into request nowadays. To meet these today s expectations, this writing has focused on and deeply analyzed song·chuk·shi among the legacies of Chinese literature. Song·chuk·shi belongs to the extended category of song(praise), a traditional style of Chinese literature. In 「Mun·che·myung·ban·seo·sul(文體明辨序說)」, Seo·sa·zung(徐師曾) from the Ming dynasty explains the process of establishing song as a style of Chinese literature. It is the standard form of song(praise) that people sing dancing to the music when performing ancestral rites at Jong·myo(the ancestral shrine of the royal family); the variation form of song(praise) is the song to chant the eulogy of a great man or a man of power irrespective of the rites at Jong·myo. After ages the latter settled as a type of literature, so that appeared the verse and the prose form of song(praise). Three works of Korean Chinese literature has been analyzed: 「Tae·pyung·song(太平頌)」by King Jin·duck(眞德王); 「Sung·hwang·jo·hyang·dae·myo·song(聖皇朝享大廟頌)」 by Lee, Kyubo(李奎報); 「Ahl·sam·wang·myo·gack·hun·song·woo(謁三王廟各獻頌·禹)」by Lee, Jaehyung(李齊賢). By the classification of Seo·sa·zung(徐師曾), All the songs in Korean Chinese literature are to be regarded as the variation form of song(praise). The works that praise and celebrate one s merit and virtue regardless of the rites were more common than those admiring the god and hoping that he would bless the person holding the rite at Jong·myo. This phenomenon happened as a natural consequence of the advance of humanism. When the denotation of song(praise) extends to include song·chuk·shi, su·yon·shi that is composed at su·yon-a place to celebrate one s longevity -represents song·chuk·shi. In Joseon it was the custom of society that all the people in su·yon ask one another to compose song·chuk·shi and accept it. 「Bong·ha·sin·dong·chu·bal·gyung·su·yon·shi(奉賀申同樞橃慶壽宴詩)」by Lee, Sugwang(李睟光), and 「Dong·chu·sin·gong·gyung·su·yon·ha·shi(同樞申公慶壽宴賀詩)」by Jang, You(張維) have been analyzed in this writing. Compared with each other, the work of Lee shows the archetype of su·yon·shi in forms by adopting a verse with seven words to a line; while that of Jang can be considered as the archetype of su·yon·shi with its contents by containing the matter of celebrating and praying together.
