기속시의 성격과 조선후기의 양상

국문 초록

기속시는 민풍 토속을 채집하여 기록한다는 분명한 창작의식을 바탕으로, 민간의 풍속과 민중의 생활상을 집중적으로 수용하여 다양한 양식으로 형상화한 한시를 말한다. 기속시의 창작 전통은 멀리 최치원, 김극기, 이규보 등에서부터 고려말을 거쳐 조선전기까지 지속적으로 이어지다가 조선 후기에는 기속시가 대량으로 출현하였으며 특히 장편 연작시가 크게 유행하여 이전 시대와는 판이하게 다른 양상을 보이고 있다. 이와 같은 조선후기 기속시는 그 소재와 내용에 따라 歲時紀俗詩, 漢陽紀俗詩, 鄕村紀俗詩, 農家紀俗詩, 女性紀俗詩, 演戱紀俗詩, 外國紀俗詩 등으로 분류되며, 각각 특정 지역과 계층의 민중을 대상으로 조선후기 사회현실의 다양한 면모를 반영하고 민족적, 민중적 정서를 형상화하였다. 조선후기 기속시에 나타난 표현형식상의 특징으로는 한국적 시어와 전고의 사용, 민요적 표현기법의 수용, 다양한 양식적 모색과 형상화 기법의 추구 등을 들 수 있으며, 이렇게 함으로써 토속적 정서를 효과적으로 형상화하고 민중의 정서와 생활상을 생동적으로 그려내었다. 그리고 이들 작품에 나타난 작가의식은 민족주체의식, 민중에 대한 관심과 애민의식, 현실비판의식 등으로 요약된다. 이와 같은 조선후기 기속시는 ‘朝鮮詩’ 정신을 구현한 대표적인 한시 경향으로서 한국한시의 민족문학적 위치를 확고히 정립하고 높은 현실주의적 성취를 뚜렷이 보여주었다는 문학사적 의미를 갖는다.

영문 초록

Keesokshi is the Sino-Korean poetry which intensively accepts the people s lives and customs and on the base of distinctive creative mind represents them with a wide variety of forms. The history of Keesokshi is lasted from Shilla and Goryeo Dynasty and Chosun Dynasty. In the late Chosun Dynasty, Keesokshi was intensively produced especially from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. According to the materials, the works are divided into Seshi Keesokshi(歲時紀俗詩) treating the annual occasions, Hanyang Keesokshi(漢陽紀俗詩) dealing with folkways in the capital, Hyangchon Keesokshi(鄕村紀俗詩) reflecting the folkways of rural areas, Nongka Keesokshi(農家紀俗詩) describing the social manners and lives of farmers, Yeosung Keesokshi(女性紀俗詩) focusing on the social manners and lives of women, Yeonhee Keesokshi(演戱紀俗詩) treating singing and dancing performances and Woegook Keesokshi(外國紀俗詩) describing foreign customs. It is a very important that a lot of Keesokshi are produced in Late Chosun. The Keesokshi at that time are deal with Koren folkways and customs of their lives. Furthermore, Keesokshi realize the spirit of Chosunshi(朝鮮詩) in the content and the form as well, plays a leading role in establishing the status of Sino-Korean poetry as a folk literature.
