국문 초록

이 글은 樂齋 徐思遠(1550~1615)의 실천유학을 중심으로 전개하였다. 먼저 낙재의 우주론과 심성론에 관한 내용을 정리하고, 修己를 강조한 공부론을 검토하였다. 특히 그의 학교론을 중심으로 공부의 방법과 수양론을 살펴보았다. 낙재의 사상은 窮理盡性으로 요약할 수 있으며, 특히 窮理는 현실에서의 구체적 실천으로 완성되는 것임을 강조하였다. 즉 知行合一처럼 지식도 실천을 통하여 완성된다는 입장과 같다. 이러한 낙재의 수양론은 지식공부에만 매달리는 오늘의 교육에 대한 반성의 기회가 될 것이다. 낙재는 신분의 차별이 없는 보편적 교육을 강조하였으며, 진정한 군자가 되는 데는 신분의 차별이 없다고 하였다. 낙재의 이러한 철학은 세상의 名利를 따라 志操와 節槪를 버리고 沒廉恥하게 사는 현대의 지식인과 지식인 사회에 모범이 될 수 있을 것이다. 결국 그가 제시한 학교규범은 지역사회의 自淨역할을 하는 것이며, 인간성 상실이나 분열을 방지하는 실천적 교육철학이기도 하다.

영문 초록

This article intend to analye the cosmology and the theory of Nature in Nakjae(樂齋, 1550-1615), and to show his the theory of scholarly activity(工夫論) that based on one s own moral training(修己), focusing on his practical confusianism. And I have studied his the theory of scholarly activity and the theory of moral culture(修養論) , which concerned with his educational system(學校論) especially. The thought of Nakjae is characterized by the study of the laws of human and nature and realization of human nature(窮理盡性) , And he emphasized that the study of the laws of human and nature must be achieved through the actual and concrete practice. That is, the knowledge is achieved through the practice, like the Union of knowledge and conduct(知行合一) . In these points of his education theory of moral culture , it can be reconsidered our current education system, cramming the superficial knowledge. He urged the universal education without respect to social standing, and there is no relation a real man of virtue with his social position. His philosophy will be the mirror of the shameless intellectuals and their society today, following to the worldly fame and wealth without any principle, integrity, and self-dignity. Finally I think that the idea of education, proposed by Nakjae, will be possible to the self-cleansing action of the society and to preserve human nature, as the practical philosophy of education.
