적정기술 보조기기 개발을 위한 수요조사 및 분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 적정기술 보조기기(Appropriate Assistive Technology: AAT) 개발을 위해 보조기기 수요조사를 실시하였고, 그 자료를 분석하였다. 2020년 8월부터 2021년 6월 13일까지 수요를 제출한 176 명을 대상으로 인터뷰를 실시하여 해당 수요를 더욱 구체화하였고, ICF(International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health)를 사용하여 분류하였다. 수요는 총 176건이었으며, 보조기기가 필요한 일상생활 속 어려움 수요는 153건, 보조기기 맞춤 활용 수요는 23건이었다. ICF 분류 순으로 보면 이동 (82건), 자기관리 (35건), 가정생활 (18건), 의사소통 (15건), 지역사회생활, 사회생활 및 시민생활 (13건), 주요생활영역 (10건), 기타 (3건) 순이었다. 보조기기의 수요를 종합해보면 다음과 같이 시사점이 있었다. 첫째, 기존의 보조기기가 있다고 하더라도 실제 생활에서 적용하기에는 맞춤형 제작이 더 필요하다. 둘째, 기존의 보조기기를 사용하고 있으나 다양한 원인에 의해 더 이상 기업에서 생산을 하지 않아 구할 수 없는 보조기기가 있다. 셋째, 기존의 보조기기를 응용하여 새로운 형태의 보조기기 개발의 필요성이 있다. 넷째, 기존에 없는 새로운 형태의 보조기기 개발의 필요성이 있다. 본 수요조사를 바탕으로 국립재활원, 기업, 연구기관, 메이커스페이스, 보조기기센터 등에서 다양한 일상생활 영역에 대한 적정기술 보조기기 연구 개발이 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

In this study, a needs survey for appropriate assistive technology was conducted from August 2020 to June 2021 through the website. As for the data collection method, we interviewed the users by phone based on the results of the information of the need, and classified it using ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health). There were a total of 176 cases of needs, 153 cases of difficulties in daily life, and 23 cases of customized use of assistive technology. According to ICF classification, moving (82 cases), self-management (35 cases), family life (18 cases), communication (15 cases), community life, social life and civic life (13 cases), major life areas (10 cases), and others (3 cases). There were implications as follows. First, even if there are existing assistive devices, more customized production is needed to apply them in real life. Second, there are assistive devices that are not available because they are no longer produced by companies\ for various reasons. Third, there was a need to develop a new type of assistive device by applying the existing device. Fourth, there was a need to develop a new type of assistive device that did not exist before. Based on this needs survey, it will be necessary to research and develop appropriate assistive technology in various areas of daily life such as national rehabilitation centers, companies, research institutes, makerspaces, and assistive technology centers.
