문화적 다양성 교육에 관한 기독교교육적 연구

국문 초록

코로나19의 지구적 팬데믹 영향으로 국가들은 자국의 방역조치에 따라 국민의 생활권을 제한하고 있고, 해외여행은 국가 간 국경봉쇄 및 조건부 제한적 입국 허용으로 인해 위축된 상황이다. 그러나 인류는 현재 직면하고 있는 코로나19 팬데믹 위기를 극복할 수 있는 해법을 찾을 것이며 마침내 지구화라는 문화적 흐름을 계속 이어갈 것이다. 현대사회는 경제적인 관점으로는 신자유주의 맥락 아래 고소득 추구, 세계화, 금융화로, 정치적인 관점으로는 탈냉전 맥락에서 기아, 핵, 전쟁, 기후위기 등으로부터 상생을 위한 초국가적인 세계 공동체로, 그리고 문화적 관점으로는 문화적 다원주의 맥락에서 이동성과 다양성으로 이해될 수 있다. 이러한 사회는 그에 부합하는 구성원을 요구하기 마련인데, 다문화 교육은 그에 상응하는 교육으로서 기능을 해왔다. 다양한 문화에 대한 이해와 그에 상응하는 실천을 위한 교육으로서의 다문화교육은 관계성을 기반으로 한 다양성에 의한 문화적 다원주의, 그리고 문화적 내용의 전유, 표현, 사회적 이해와 수용으로서의 균등한 기회로서의 평등을 주요 내용으로 다루었다. 그러나 다문화 교육의 다양성에 대한 긍정적 이해와 수용, 그리고 인종, 계층, 성, 언어, 장애 등에 대한 선입견, 차이 및 간격에도 불구하고 균등하게 제공하는 기회 속에 내재된 소극성과 제한성은 다문화교육이 극복해야 할 과제라 할 수 있다. 그러므로 본 연구의 목적은 문화적 다양성을 특징으로 하는 현대사회가 요청하는 교육으로서 기독교교육적 가능성을 모색해보고자 함에 있다. 이를 위해 먼저, 다문화교육을 다룰 것이다. 다문화 교육은 다양한 문화의 이해 및 수용, 그리고 적용과 실천을 격려하는 교육으로 현대사회가 요청하는 역량에 상응하는 교육이기 때문이다. 이를 위해 다문화 교육의 역사적 흐름, 정의, 유형들, 한국의 다문화 상황 속에서의 교육적 함의들을 중심으로 살펴보고, 그것을 토대로 다문화교육이 현대사회에 부합하는 교육으로서 보완해야 할 내용을 성찰해볼 것이다. 그리고 현재 직면하고 있으며 앞으로도 직면하게 될 다양한 문화적 배경 속에서 요청되는 교육 및 그에 상응하는 인간의 모습에 대해 기독교 교육내용을 기반으로 제안하려고 한다.

영문 초록

Due to the global pandemic effect of COVID-19, countries are restricting the people s right to live according to their own quarantine measures, and overseas travel is shrinking due to border blockades between countries and conditional restrictions on entry. However, humanity will find a solution to overcome the current COVID-19 pandemic crisis and will eventually continue the cultural flow of globalization. Modern society can be understood as high-income pursuit, globalization, financialization under the neoliberalism context, under a political point of view as transnational community for win-win growth from hunger, nuclear, war, and climate crisis, and cultural pluralism, and a cultural point of view as mobility and diversity. Such a society is bound to require corresponding members, and multicultural education has functioned as a corresponding education. Multicultural education as education for understanding various cultures and their corresponding practices dealt with cultural pluralism based on relationships, and equality as an equal opportunity as appropriation, expression, social understanding and acceptance of cultural content. However, multicultural education must overcome the passiveness and limitations inherent in the positive understanding and acceptance of the diversity of multicultural education, and the equal opportunities provided despite prejudices, differences and gaps on race, class, gender, language, and disability. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore Christian educational possibilities as education requested by modern society characterized by cultural diversity. To this end, multicultural education will be dealt with first. This is because multicultural education is an education that encourages understanding, acceptance, application, and practice of various cultures, and it is an education that corresponds to the capabilities required by modern society. To this end, we will focus on the historical flow, definition, and types of multicultural education, and the educational implications in the multicultural context of Korea, and reflect on the content that multicultural education needs to be supplemented as an education suitable for modern society. In addition, I would like to propose based on the Christian education content about the education required in the various cultural backgrounds that we are currently and will face in the future and the corresponding human figure.
