국문 초록

본 연구는 4차 산업혁명의 돌풍과 선진국 진입이라는 한국사회의 변화 속에서 대학이 경험하는 위기의 핵심을 교육의 위기로 진단한다. 그 중에서도 인공지능기술의 확산과 가치관의 변동이 요구하는 대학의 교육혁신 중에 교양교육의 혁신이 갖는 의미를 논구한다. 사회학은 모든 개인의 존엄을 천명한 정치혁명과 과학기술의 발전이 가져온 산업혁명을 토대로 급속하게 근대로 이행하던 아노미 상태의 서구에서 탄생했다. 즉, 기성 사회질서가 무너지고 새로운 질서가 확립되지 못한 시대의 사회질서를 고민했던 사회학은 이행기 사회를 배경으로 등장한 학문이다. 이런 이행기는 사회의 구성원들이 불안에 휩싸이게 마련인데 현재의 한국사회도 바로 그러한 이행기를 겪고 있다. 이러한 이행기에 학령기의 마지막 단계의 교육을 받는 대학생들에게 왜 교양교육으로서 사회학이 현실사회로 나가기 전의 청년들에게 필요한지를 탐구한다. 그 과정에서 본 연구는 최근의 급속한 기술변화를 인공지능을 중심으로 살피고 새로운 미래세대의 가치관 변화에 대해 점검한다. 이에 기초해 추상적 중심으로서 중앙이라는 수도권 중심주의를 벗어나 지역을 지향하는 새로운 세대의 움직임에 주목하면서 어디에 있어도 각자의 세상에서 빛나는 나를 만드는 주체로서 살아가고(수처작주) 동시에 더불어 살아야 하는(극기복례) 사회적 존재로서 인간에 대한 사회학적 통찰이 대학의 교양교육에 꼭 필요한 것임을 주장한다.

영문 초록

This study diagnoses the core of the crisis experienced by universities in the midst of changes in Korean society, such as the gust of the 4th industrial revolution and the entry into advanced countries, as the crisis of education itself. In particular, this study discusses the meaning of innovation in liberal arts education among educational adaptations to the spread of artificial intelligence technology and accompanying changes in values. Sociology was born in the midst of anomic situation of Europe, which was rapidly transitioning to the modern era based on the industrial revolution brought about by the development of science and technology and the political revolution that declared the dignity of every individual. In other words, sociology, which was concerned with the social order in an era in which the established social order collapsed and a new order could not be stabilized. Thus it is a discipline that emerged in societal transition. In this transitional period, members of society are bound to be engulfed in anxiety. And, Korean society is now going through such a transitional state. In this transition period, this study explores why sociology as a liberal arts education for college students is necessary for young people before they go out into labor market. In the process, this study examines the recent rapid technological change, focusing on artificial intelligence, and surveys the change in values ​​of the new future generation. Based on this, we pay attention to emerging trend of a new generation that is moving away from the centralism of the metropolitan area as an abstract center and aiming for a local. For those who will live in a coming era, the local is the central as the site of living. This study concludes that sociological insight on human beings in contemporary society is essential for liberal arts education in universities. Sociology from the beginning has emphasized social lives of humans as both an individual who makes a shining self in their own world wherever they are, and a social existence that must live together with others.
