국문 초록

이 연구는 일반 초등학교에서 근무하는 초임 특수교사들의 교직생활 적응과정을 살펴보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이 목적을 달성하기 위하여 기간제 교사 경험이 없는 각기 다른 학교에 근무하는 초등학교 특수교사 5명을 대상으로 1년 반 동안 주기적으로 면담을 실시하였고 면담을 통해 얻어진 자료는 실용적 절충주의에 기초한 포괄적 분석절차에 따라 분석하였다. 이렇게 생성된 18개의 의미단위를 중심으로 6개의 하위범주와 2개의 상위범주가 도출되었으며, 상위범주는 크게 ‘조금씩 수월해지는 것’과 ‘점점 더 어려워지는 것’에 대한 내용으로 나누어 볼 수 있었다. 첫째, ‘조금씩 수월해지는 것: 하다 보니 할 만 하네!’에서는 특수교사가 일반학교에 발령을 받고 학교에서 적응해가는 가운데 해결해야하는 많은 업무에 관한 내용을 중심으로 적응과정이 나타났다. 도출된 하위범주는 ‘점점 쉬워지는 IEP’, ‘손에 익어가는 업무와 공문’, ‘조금씩 생기는 수업 노하우’였다. 둘째, ‘점점 더 어려워지는 것: 점점 더 고독하네!’에서는 특수교사가 일반학교에 발령을 받고 학교에서 경험하는 관계와 갈등, 그 외에 교사가 된 후의 만족감에 관한 내용을 중심으로 적응과정이 나타났다. 도출된 하위범주는 ‘어려워지는 관계와 깊어지는 외로움’, ‘학부모의 존재감’, ‘그 와중에도 느끼는 만족’이었다. 이 연구는 초등학교 초임 특수교사가 교직 생활을 시작하며 무엇을 경험하고, 어떻게 적응하는지에 대하여 시간을 두고 장기간에 걸쳐 다루었다는 점에서 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있으며, 연구결과를 토대로 후속연구를 위한 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of study is to examine an adjustment process of beginning teacher of special education who works at a general elementary school. To achieve these goals, the regular interviews by 5 elementary school teachers of special education from different schools who have no experience of short-term teaching position have practiced for a year and a half. And the data obtained through interview has analyzed in accordance with comprehensive analysis procedure based on a practical eclecticism. Based on created 18 meaning units, 6 subcategories and 2 upper categories have introduced, and 2 upper categories can be categorized into 2 parts: ‘being a little bit easier’, and ‘being more difficult’. If take a concrete look, it is as in the following. First, in ‘being a little bit easier: can do it as work proceeds!’, the adjustment process has mainly taken from the content that special instructor has to solve various problems while adjusting to a general school. The deducted subcategories are ‘becomes easier and easier, IEP’, ‘the work and official document which is getting accustomed to’, ‘a class know-how gradually enhances’, and teachers have responded that they are used to the job and handle the work efficiently, even though it has been difficult to handle during the first semester. Second, in ‘being more difficult: being more lonely!’the adjustment process has mainly taken from the content about the relationship and conflict in the school after assigned to a general school, and satisfaction from being other type of teacher. The deducted subcategories are ‘relationship which gets more difficult and loneliness which gets deeper’, ‘presence of school parent’, ‘satisfaction from difficult circumstance’. The significance of study can be established in that the study has took long time to interpret what kind of experience that beginning elementary teachers of special education experience, and how they adjust, and proposal for future study is as follows.
