경성(京城) 지식인 문학에 나타난 친일적 성향

국문 초록

본고는 다나카 히데미츠(田中英光)의 『취한 배』에 나타난 최건영과 노천심을 중심으로 당시 식민지 시대의 경성 지 식인 중 최재서와 노천명에 대해서 살펴보고자 한다. 책 제목인 <취한 배>는 노천심이 지은 시의 제목으로 원래 랭보의 시 제목이지만, 이것은 일본 군국주의, 조선의 암울한 시 대 상황과 함께 식민지하의 문학 지성인들의 혼란스러운 모습을 상징적으로 나타내고 볼 수 있다. 즉 그들의 친일적인 문학 활동은 당연히 비판받아야 마땅하지만, 한편으로 당시 시대적 흐름에 맞추어 살아갈 수밖에 없었던 한 개인의 불행한 삶의 궤적이라 하겠다. 물론 최재서와 노천명 그들이 지금까지 단순히 친일문학으로 규정한다면 결국 우리 근대문학사의 커다란 공백과 함께 우리 한국 근대문학사의 올바른 이해라고 보기 어렵다. 따라서 앞으로 올바른 문학사를 정립해 나가기 위해서는 우선 식민지 시대의 친일 문학을 어떻게 규정해 가야 할 것인가에 대한 재인식 설정이 필요하다고 본다. 그리고 이러한 재인식을 토대로 지금까지 연구되어 온 민족 문학과 아직까지 발굴해 내지 못한 친일 문학의 자료를 상호 관련지어 한국문학사의 ‘새롭게 쓰기’가 우리들의 과제라고 하겠다.

영문 초록

This study focuses on Choi Jae-so and No Cheonmyoung who were intellects in Keijyo in the Japanese colonial period of Korea, considering Choi Gun-young and No Cheon-sim that appeared in a work of Tanaka Hidemitsu’s 「The drunken vessel」. Though 「The drunken vessel」 is a title of poem written by No Cheon-sim, which was originally Rimbaud’s poem title, this represented Japanese militarisms, a gloomy situation with the colonial era of Korea, and confused literary intellects symbolically. Of course, their pro-Japanese literary activity should be criticized deservedly. On the other hand, however, it was just one person’s unfortunate life trace which was needed to adapt to stream of times. If we simply define Choi Jae-so and No Cheon-myoung’s works as pro-Japanese literatures, we end up with a huge space in our modern literary history and it is not the correct understanding of our modern literary history. So, we need a new understanding on how we define the pro-Japanese literature in the colonial era to make a correct literary history in the future. And a ‘Writing the Korea literary history anew’ would be our problem to solve, which is based on the new understanding in relation to national literature excavated so far and not.
