영문 초록

This study identified the structural relationship between psycholsocial climate (caring, mastery, and performance) and burnout on middle school Taekwondo athletes. Participants of this study were 316 (221 male and 95 female) who registered in KTA(Korea Taekwondo Association). Three structured survey were used for data collection. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, correlation, and SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). Model fit indices revealed as ‘good model fit(x2/df=3.094, CFI=.924, TLI=.924, RMSEA=.082, SRMR=.0509). First, caring climate had a negative effects on all sub-scales of burnout. Second, performance climate was positively related to all sub-scales of burnout. Third, mastery climate negatively influenced on two sub-scales of burnout (conflict with teammate and reduced sense of accomplishment/motivation). In conclusion, depending on the climate formed by the coach and other athletes of the team to which individual belong, the level of experience of athletes’ burnout may vary.
