The purpose of this study was to develop a NLP group counseling program to improve stress coping ability of elementary school senior-grade children. To achieve this purpose, the research questions instituted are as follows. First, how should NLP group counseling program to improve stress coping ability of elementary school senior-grade children be constructed? Second, what are the effects of constructed program? Program was devised based on counsel program development model of Park In-Woo(1995). To measure effects of the program, two classes in W elementary school located in Seoul were selected as experimental group and control group. ‘Stress Coping Strategy Scale’ of Park, Jin-A(2001) is used as a test tool, the statistical results are analyzed by Mixed ANOVA as data processing. As a result, The experimental group dealing with NLP group counseling program for the improvement of stress coping ability appeared to have significant difference in stress coping ability compared to control group. This study is to use it to enable elementary school senior-grade children in actively and effectively coping with problems in their personal, home and school life, by acquiring effective stress coping ability and improving positive stress coping ability.
