The Effects of the CT-based Collaborative Scratch Programming Class on the Creative Problem Solving and Communication Ability of Gifted Elementary School Students

국문 초록

본 연구는 CT(computational thinking)를 기반으로 공유와 리믹스 기능을 활용한 스크래치 프로그래밍 수업의 효과에 관한 연구이다. 본 과정은 초등학교 5, 6학년 영재학생들을 대상으로 6주간 사이버수업으로 실시되었다. 스크래치 시뮬레이션 프로그램 제작을 위하여 학생들은 댓글활동및 모둠활동과 더불어 작품 공유 및 리믹스를 하는 활동에 계속해서 참여하였다. 연구 결과, 학생들은 실생활문제를 창의적으로 해결하는 능력이 유의미하게 향상되었다. 또한, 의사소통능력의 향상을 보인 학생들의 공통점은 스크래치의 공유에 대한 긍정적인 생각을 갖고 있었고, 리믹스 기능을 2회 이상 활용하였다는 점이다. 또한 대인관계능력에 관련된 다른 구성요소에 대한 능력도고루 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 따라서, CT를 기반으로 설계한 스크래치 협력학습은 학생들의 창의적인 문제해결력과 의사소통능력 향상에 긍정적인 시사점을 준다고 볼 수 있겠다

영문 초록

Our study examines the effects of the computational thinking (CT)-based Scratch programming class utilizing sharing and remix functions. This course was implemented with the fifth and sixth grade elementary school students as on-line classes for 6 weeks. To make Scratch simulation programs, the students continuously conducted work-sharing and remixing activities along with comment writing and group activities. According to the results of the study, the students showed significant improvement in the ability to creatively solve real-life problems. Further, factors in common among most students who achieved improvement in their communication ability were that they utilized remix functions at least two times along with positive thinking about Scratch sharing, and as a result their ability for other components of interpersonal skills was also improved.
