독일의 베를린 액티브 시니어(Active senior) 세대 학습자들의 사회참여를 위한 고등평생교육 모델의 사례를 통한 시사점

국문 초록

평생학습사회로의 변화와 고령인구의 급속한 증가로 인해 고등평생교육의 새로운 교육대상으로 액티브시니어 세대가 등장하고 있다. 본 연구는 현재 독일 대학에서 실행되고 있는 액티브시니어 세대의 사회참여를 위한 고등평생교육 사례 탐구를 통하여 한국적 상황에서 독일 대학평생교육 모델이 줄 수 있는 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 또한 한국의 대학평생교육 프로그램 설계와 교육방법을 위한 이론적 기초를 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 해석학적 연구에 기반하여 문헌분석과 내용분석방법을 활용하였다. 학습자가 왜 학습하는지, 왜 학습을 거부하는지에 대한 근본적인 질문에 대한 이론적 기초를 제시하기 위해 독일 교육학 담론에서 학습자의 학습참여 의미를 탐색하였다. 이를 통해 도출된 연구결과는 크게 네 가지 영역에서 고등평생교육의 이론과 실천을 위한 새로운 방향성과 시사점을 제시한다. 첫째, 대학의 사회적 책무성과 고령사회를 위해 새로운 교육대상자들의 교육적 요구에 맞추어 학습자(수요자)중심교육으로 대학평생교육의 방향과 체계를 제도적으로 재구성해야 한다. 둘째, 학습은 세계와 상호작용으로서 학습과 사회적 행위로서 학습을 통하여 인간의 사회적 참여를 확장하는 행위방식이다. 셋째, 지속가능발전사회를 위해 도시 전체가 사회적 공존이라는 철학에 기초하여 일상생활과 연관된 교육주제(도시, 환경, 건강)를 통하여 인간 행동양식의 총체적 변화를 추구해야 한다. 넷째, 대학의 제도적 지원을 통하여 학습도시문화를 조성하고 지역사회 모든 구성원들이 공존할 수 있는 가치지향적인 교육 방향은 우리에게 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

The change to a lifelong learning society and the rapid increase of the elderly population have led to the emergence of the active senior generation as a new educational target for higher lifelong education. This study aims to derive the implications of the German university lifelong education model in Korean situations through the exploration of high-lifelong education cases for social participation of the active senior generation currently conducted at German universities. Also, the purpose of this study is to present the theoretical basis for the design and education method of university lifelong education programs in Korea. To achieve the goal of this study, we utilize literature analysis and content analysis methods based on hermeneutic studies. In order to present a theoretical basis for fundamental questions about why learners learn and why they refuse to learn, the meaning of learners participation in learning was explored in German pedagogical discourse. The results of this study suggest new directions and implications for the theory and practice of higher lifelong education in four major areas. First, for the social responsibility of universities and an aging society, the direction and system of university lifelong education must be systematically reorganized into learner (consumer)-centered education in line with the educational needs of new subjects of education. Second, learning is an action method that expands human social participation through learning as an interaction with the world and learning as a social action. Third, for a sustainable development society, based on the philosophy that the entire city is social coexistence, it is necessary to pursue a total change in human behavior through education topics related to daily life (city, environment, health). Fourth, through institutional support from universities, the value-oriented education direction that all members of the community can coexist provides us with implications.
